The Official Deslobification Guide (My New E-Book!)

Today I’m introducing my all new e-book:

28 Days to Hope for Your Home

{Not for the Mildly Disorganized}

Develop four habits over four weeks.

Find hope for real change in your home.

Once A Slob Comes Clean gained a little momentum and I began to see hope for my home, I started getting emails asking one specific question.

How do I get started?

Since my own progress was so tentative and totally un-perfect, I didn’t feel like I had any business giving advice.  I started telling people to read the blog backwards from the beginning.  See how I just . . . started . . . doing.  Tackling one small habit at a time.

This has been a process for me, one that  isn’t done and that still falls completely apart when I get tunnel-vision working on an all-consuming project.  (Like writing an e-book.)  Reading the blog from day one to present makes it clear that three rockin’ weeks are often followed by one (or four) discouraging ones.

But I consistently had requests to write a deslobification guide.  Something more direct and guidance-focused than reading my story.  I didn’t want to do it, because I’m still not perfect.  There are still times when I feel like I would absolutely die if my doorbell rang unexpectedly.

But then, just before Christmas . . . it hit me.  Maybe I don’t feel qualified to give people directions to having a Perfect Guest-Ready House at all times, but there is something I can share.

Hope.

Pre-blog, I had no hope for my home. I had tried (and failed) so many times that I was almost resigned to living in a constantly messy house forever.

The biggest thing that left me hopeless?  I just didn’t get it.

I didn’t get how things went from Party Ready to Disaster Status in three days flat.

I get it now.  Through my own deslobification process, I have finally figured out what it takes to keep the house livable.  Not that I always do those things like I should, but it’s amazing how the hope comes from knowing what needs to be done.  And knowing that after a certain tunnel-vision period is over, I can get right back on track.

I have hope.

Here’s a quote from the e-book:

“Before I began my deslobification process, I blocked out two weeks to get my home ready for a party.  One week was spent shoving clutter into the master bedroom, and the second week was spent cleaning.

Now . . . I can be ready for a party with one day’s warning.  Casual guests can come over if I have an hour to be ready.  And that’s a rough week. In a week when I’m kicking it with my habits, they can just show up.

I have hope.

You can too.”

I am so excited about this e-book.  It is a day-by-day guide that will talk you through developing four basic housekeeping habits over four weeks.

Four habits that will help you find hope for your home.

And remember . . . it’s not for the mildly disorganized.

If you’re normal, don’t buy it.

For the month of February 28 Days to Hope for Your Home is on sale for the introductory price of 4.00! Go here to check out the page with all the details!

UPDATE: This e-book is now in retirement. For detailed guides, check out my books: How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind and Decluttering at the Speed of Life.

My Chicken Salad’s Secret (And Sometimes Only) Ingredient

January 29, 2012 By Dana White 6 Comments

30shares 13 0 17 I’m not five. I promise. I just don’t like onions and lots of other icky stuff in my chicken salad. But I LOVE chicken salad.  It’s one of the quickest and yummiest ways to use pre-cooked chicken for lunch. And the very quickest way to make it is to use JUST […]

Hubby Has Issues Too

January 25, 2012 By Dana White 23 Comments

97shares 96 0 1 I knew we had too many mugs. I knew most of them came into our home through Hubby. Some were gifts from work.  Some were from his (many) bachelor years. I’ve always known that I have issues. But I don’t think I realized Hubby has them too . . . until […]

“Home”work Time

January 24, 2012 By Dana White 14 Comments

4shares 4 0 0 I have an idea in my head of a post to write about how I’m proud of myself for tackling the daily task of cleaning the kitchen (the neglected-over-the-weekend kitchen) while the kids did homework sprawled out on the floor this afternoon. See the picture?  It means I really was thinking […]

A Mess That Makes Me Smile

January 18, 2012 By Dana White 11 Comments

3shares 3 0 0 Hubby trimmed trees on Monday, and now we have a (taller than me) brush pile on the side of the house. We see it as we pull into the driveway, and for the past two days the kids and I have stopped to watch the birds that have turned this brush […]
