Today I’m introducing my all new e-book:
28 Days to Hope for Your Home
{Not for the Mildly Disorganized}
Develop four habits over four weeks.
Find hope for real change in your home.
Once A Slob Comes Clean gained a little momentum and I began to see hope for my home, I started getting emails asking one specific question.
How do I get started?
Since my own progress was so tentative and totally un-perfect, I didn’t feel like I had any business giving advice. I started telling people to read the blog backwards from the beginning. See how I just . . . started . . . doing. Tackling one small habit at a time.
This has been a process for me, one that isn’t done and that still falls completely apart when I get tunnel-vision working on an all-consuming project. (Like writing an e-book.) Reading the blog from day one to present makes it clear that three rockin’ weeks are often followed by one (or four) discouraging ones.
But I consistently had requests to write a deslobification guide. Something more direct and guidance-focused than reading my story. I didn’t want to do it, because I’m still not perfect. There are still times when I feel like I would absolutely die if my doorbell rang unexpectedly.
But then, just before Christmas . . . it hit me. Maybe I don’t feel qualified to give people directions to having a Perfect Guest-Ready House at all times, but there is something I can share.
Hope.
Pre-blog, I had no hope for my home. I had tried (and failed) so many times that I was almost resigned to living in a constantly messy house forever.
The biggest thing that left me hopeless? I just didn’t get it.
I didn’t get how things went from Party Ready to Disaster Status in three days flat.
I get it now. Through my own deslobification process, I have finally figured out what it takes to keep the house livable. Not that I always do those things like I should, but it’s amazing how the hope comes from knowing what needs to be done. And knowing that after a certain tunnel-vision period is over, I can get right back on track.
I have hope.
Here’s a quote from the e-book:
“Before I began my deslobification process, I blocked out two weeks to get my home ready for a party. One week was spent shoving clutter into the master bedroom, and the second week was spent cleaning.
Now . . . I can be ready for a party with one day’s warning. Casual guests can come over if I have an hour to be ready. And that’s a rough week. In a week when I’m kicking it with my habits, they can just show up.
I have hope.
You can too.”
I am so excited about this e-book. It is a day-by-day guide that will talk you through developing four basic housekeeping habits over four weeks.
Four habits that will help you find hope for your home.
And remember . . . it’s not for the mildly disorganized.
If you’re normal, don’t buy it.
For the month of February 28 Days to Hope for Your Home is on sale for the introductory price of 4.00! Go here to check out the page with all the details!
UPDATE: This e-book is now in retirement. For detailed guides, check out my books: How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind and Decluttering at the Speed of Life.

Thank You, Nony!
I am one that read your blog from beginning to end, and I am SOOOO going to buy your ebook guide. I’ve done some copy-n-paste to keep your tips handy, but this will be so much better.

I totally just bought your e-book! I also read your whole blog beginning to end when I found it! 🙂 Cause I’m totally NOT normal, lol!
And you know what? I downloaded it, opened it, and promtly got up and finished emptying the dishwasher, then reloaded it and started it! And yes, I do have a cooktop full of dirty pots & pans i need to get to! LOL, THANK YOU! 🙂

Thank you for this!! I kept meaning to read from the beginning of your blog, but like other areas in my life I kept putting it off. I LOVE your writing style and the first days directions. This will be a joy to work with with your help. 🙂

Oh Nony so glad it’s finished! Thank you for your honesty. I’m still trying to get it together but with 4 homeschool kids under 10, it’s hard for anything to get done. Not that I’m trying to make excuses, I’m clearly not normal either! Geez, just thanks. Love your spirit.

I’m so excited! Thanks for this!! And, by the way, my husband was so excited to get an email from Dana White (also the name of the president of the UFC) and then sorely disappointed to see I bought an ebook on being a better housewife and that there is another Dana White out there who apparently has a hand in publishing ebooks. 🙂
Nony says
Oh this made me laugh!! Yes, I definitely can’t buy the domain of my name! Dana white dot com redirects to the ufc website!
Tell your husband I’m sorry for his disappointment!
Erin says
Don’t laugh, but I really thought I was the only adult that was a slob! Honestly, just knowing there are others out there is reassuring. I am so buying this ebook! Thank you!!

Just bought it Nony! SO excited for you. I am 2/3 through backwards reading right now.
Also, can I just say thanks from all slobs who wished they could have a blog but were afraid of what further chaos it would reign upon their homes?!! I started a cancer blog for my sister to keep people updated and nearly tore out my hair and ignored my children/house for nearly two days. I handed it over to my mom who had never seen a blog, it was painful because I LOVED blogs! I have only managed 2 “guest posts” on it and that was HARD and time consuming. So thanks for taking the plunge with a slob/distraction personality you’ve been so wonderfully consistent with your posts – it’s awesome!
Thanks Nony!
Shanna says
I’m not sure abot the reign now. hmmmmm

I think I need this! I have organised tendencies that I’ve been developing over the past couple of years, but with my wedding last week (and then some unexpected guests) the house has gotten to the point where I walk into a room, get overwhelmed by all the stuff in it and walk out again! Avoidance is really not conducive to getting things done.

I loved Chrissie’s comment! “Avoidance is really not conducive to getting things done.” That is so true! The story of my life.

I’m so excited about your e-book. I can’t describe how relieved I was the first time I read one of your blog posts… here is someone who understands! I do need some help, though. I bought the book, but my computer locked up as I was completing the transaction and I never got the download link. Can you help me? Thank you SO much!

Hi Nony – thanks for your E-Book – I discovered your blog via Facebook somehow about 10 days ago – I LOVE IT – I’ve been reading your blog and am at the end of 2010 now. I’ve been checking your blog to see when your Ebook would be released and when I found it last night (I live in Australia), I bought it straight away – started reading it last night. The changes I’ve made already include stacking dishwasher every night and unstacking in the morning and I’ve made my bed two days in a row AND I’ve started decluttering my study which has been a huge mess since I moved in A YEAR AGO!!! I felt so hopeless for a long, long time and your blog has not only given me hope but laughter too. I have a few normal friends and always look at their homes in awe trying to figure out how they do it! THANKYOU from a confirmed slob! xxxx

All, I have a confession…. I’m pretty “Normal”. I’ve been called “domestic” and my house “adorable.”
But what makes the e-book and blog great for me is that it STILL helps me. With systems. With ideas. (Do dishes 2x a day? Even if it’s just me and Husband? Yep.) With the times that I didn’t even realize a “system” could make things that much easier. Even for Normal people.
This book and blog help my already almost-clean house FUNCTION. And it helps me manage my time.
Sorry Nony, but you kind of ARE qualified to give advice, in my opinion ;).

Love this comment, Beretta!

How awesome that you finally felt ready to put this together. It’s been fun to read your blog.

I found your e-book when a friend pinned it on pinterest. It wouldn’t download to my phone so for about two months I just read your blog until I finally remembered to ask my husband to help me with the book. And when I finally had the book, I read it all at once. I’m glad that you kept it simple, it reminds me how important those daily tasks are. This morning I got up, made coffee and pancakes and had breakfast ready within 20 minutes because I didn’t have to clean the kitchen first! A huge accomplishment especially when it’s been a busy weekend.
