Things I Don’t Keep

February 26, 2014 By Dana White 37 Comments

It helps me to go ahead and make decisions about certain things so I can avoid making bad decisions in the heat of the moment. Heat of the Moment = When the carhop at Sonic (or the coffee-fixer at Starbucks) asks if I want to keep my used-up giftcard. I tell them I don’t want […]

Things I Don’t Miss – Plastic Cups

February 25, 2014 By Dana White 33 Comments

I share my (never-ending) decluttering adventures here, but I think it’s also important to share “after the project” stories. Last fall, I decluttered my kitchen cabinet and replaced my humongous collection of plastic cups with grown up GLASS glasses. I knew I had to replace them one-for-one because I simply didn’t have enough room in […]

White Chicken Chili Recipe

February 24, 2014 By Dana White 2 Comments

This post contains affiliate links. This is an eMeals recipe that has made it into our list of family favorites. It’s now one of the ones I turn to on days when something on the menu plan doesn’t sound like something we’d eat. Really, this White Chicken Chili is super easy and tastes great. It […]

Books I Like (Take Two)

How Long Does It Actually Take to Empty the Dishwasher?

February 20, 2014 By Dana White 53 Comments

When I speak at moms’ groups, I always say: “I have really bad news. Emptying the dishwasher is actually more important than running it.” It is. And I’m sorry. Emptying the dishwasher first thing in the morning means I can re-fill it all day with whatever dishes get dirtied. Re-filling it all day (instead of […]

In Plain Sight

February 19, 2014 By Dana White 21 Comments

Sunday afternoon, as I was cleaning up the house for our church’s home group, I saw this: Not the stuff in the top half. That’s still invisible. I’m talking about the ice chest. It had been there since I came back from the lake over two weeks ago. Oops. I wasn’t sure how I had […]

Shiny, Clean Trash

February 18, 2014 By Dana White 16 Comments

Dear Mr. Trash Man, You’re welcome. I know that we’ve put out some pretty rotten stuff over the years, but this time we cleaned it up for you. Right. For some reason (a reason completely unknown to me), we chose to run this pie plate through the dishwasher. I don’t recall that it was particularly […]
