Last year I cut snowflakes out of coffee filters. I folded the coffee filter in half, then into thirds. The thin coffee filter is easier to cut than printer paper, and folding it into sixths makes an authentic six-sided snowflake. And it starts out round instead of square.
I have to tell you this story–I made the sausage strudel bites for a late-night Christmas snack, and they were delicious! The only downside was that one of my children said, “They look like buttholes” and then none of my kids wanted to eat them. LOL. Oh well, more for me!
