Frightening to Fabulous Patio Project (A Guest Decluttering Post!)

Nony here!  I’m excited to show the before and after pics from one of YOUR decluttering/fixing-up projects. If you have pictures, I’d love to share them too!  (With or without your name!)

My name is Michele and I have been de-cluttering for 3 years.  A Slob Comes Clean is one of my favorite blogs.  When Dana asked if anyone had a project to share, I knew I wanted to participate. Here is my frightening to fabulous patio project

Taking before/after pictures is one of my favorite de-cluttering methods. It keeps me on track and has helped me get to the end of several projects that I seemed to start but never finish.  For the entire month of June 2012 I tackled one of my biggest projects to date, the outdoor patio and pool area.

I tried to pretend this area just did not exist.

From general neglect to the buried outdoor clutter, the word “relaxing” would have been the last word to come to mind for this space.  After countless hours of hard work and with the help of several friends, it became the perfect place for my friends and family for the entire summer……

To start on a project this size, I began pulling pieces off the patio and working on them individually.  Lots of spray paint, and a few simple sewing projects later, it started to come together.

38shares 27 1 10Today’s guest post is from the lovely Rebekah of Simply Rebekah. I only know her online, but I can say she’s most definitely a kindred spirit! Several times a day I would open this kitchen cabinet and think to myself… Oh my word! This is awful. This is awful. This is awful! […]

Grilled Chicken with Dry Rub – Prepped with Bounty DuraTowel

July 30, 2013 By Dana White 3 Comments

29shares 25 0 4   Mmmmm. I love grilled chicken breasts.  Partly, it’s because they taste great. Mostly, it’s because Hubby does the grilling. We generally marinate the chicken, but I wanted to try a dry rub this time. I searched around for a dry rub recipe, but mostly found people saying to make one […]

Vinegar – How I Love Thee

July 28, 2013 By Dana White 13 Comments

279shares 239 0 40 Vinegar is the idealist housekeeper’s best friend, right?  And it’s not too bad on french fries either.  (Yes, I’m Texan, but I spent my summers in Canada as a teenager!) So I thought I’d share some of my vinegar-related posts.  The funny thing was, though . . . there are quite […]

228shares 157 0 71Nony here: Today, I’m introducing you to my friend Toni of TheHappyHousewife.com. She’s normal. Actually, she’s kind of a super woman.  She homeschools, blogs, and is an amazing business woman. But the thing I’ve learned (am learning) from her, is that she doesn’t do it all herself. She delegates so she can […]
