Just listened to this podcast. I’ve been binge listening for a couple of days. This subject came at exactly the right moment for me. Mom of 3 (8, 4, 3) And we are moving in 10 days!! Husband has been at work (out of town) for 2 weeks and has about 2 more weeks before he’ll be home. I’m not only behind on dishes and laundry, but need to pack and clean the entire house. My list is made and divided up into the days I have, taking into account baseball practices and school events that are coming up. Still feeling a little overwhelmed, but at least I have a plan that seems possible now!

I just haven’t been able to talk about decluttering or cleaning for a while now. My chat-about-cleaning gland ran dry. BUT I’ve been listening and reading as regularly as ever.
I have inlaws coming in 2 weeks exactly, and although I’ve read the blog and the books and listened to this podcast before and I already had a pretty good idea of what I needed to do to be ready, I pulled this podcast up to listen to while I did the dishes – dishes that haven’t been done for days.
I did half a kitchen deep clean a couple of weeks ago, knowing that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do it thoroughly later.
Half way through the podcast, and one load of dishes down, I swept the floor in the loungeroom.
I’m about to go and do a 5 min pick-up focusing on procrasti-clutter. I really needed the reminder about curtains and painting! I’ve given the bathroom a once over which will make a deeper clean easier later.

45 mins into preparing, I feel like I’m almost a week ahead!

The visitors will be staying in a BNB and we will be eating out when we do, so I just need to prepare for a house visit and tea, but I feel like the house isn’t as nice as it should be after all this time focusing on it. Will it even look any different from last time they visited? I hope so!

Whatever happens, I don’t feel nearly as overwhelmed or stressed out about our visitors or about where to start.

I won’t have time for doing much of anything tomorrow but on Thursday I’ll be picking up where I left off.

But right now I better go and do some more dishes.
