Daily Checklist

I’ll begin by admitting that I completely forgot to make lunches last night. Actually, I remembered just as I got really comfortable and warm in my bed. So I rationalized that since the dishwasher hadn’t been run for a lack of enough dirty dishes, I would have plenty of time to make lunches in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember that I also had not put out the boys’ clothes, so this morning was a bit busier than it should have been.

Today I:

Stripped bed instead of making it.

Just now got up to go put on new sheets and make the bed, and also did my “get off my behind and do a focused 5 minute pickup” time. (Very profitable and satisfying.)

Checked bathrooms for clutter.

Cleaned kitchen.

Swept kitchen.

Washed and dried a load of clothes.

Last night I did check the washer and dryer for unfinished laundry. I hadn’t done a load yesterday, since I just can’t seem to do one on Sunday. I thought I should check it, though, since there was a very real chance that I had started a load at some point and completely forgotten about it.

Last night I also wiped down the bathroom counters and toilets.

I’m really working this week on making sure that I complete my evening tasks every day.

A Few Comments from my Family

October 26, 2009 By Dana White | 16 Comments

52shares 52 0 0My son – “But Mom, I just wore these undies a few days ago!” (I had to explain that I’m doing better on laundry now, and they really were clean.) My husband (after spilling the dog’s water in the playroom) – “Seriously, we don’t have a single dirty towel in this house?” […]

Menu Plan Monday

October 26, 2009 By Dana White | 3 Comments

2shares 2 0 0Last week I followed the menu plan pretty well. I was especially appreciative that I had extra chicken noodle soup leftover that we ate on Sunday for lunch with grilled cheese sandwiches. I put the leftover soup in the crock pot before we left for church so it was hot and ready […]

Daily Checklist

October 26, 2009 By Dana White | 1 Comment

0shares 0 0 0I’ve said before how difficult weekends are. Since we were gone all day yesterday, I felt pretty justified not doing much. That was wrong. I still need to do the basic daily tasks. Today I had a very natural thought come into my head. I was going to do a last minute […]

New Non-negotiable Task for the Week – Refocus

October 25, 2009 By Dana White | 5 Comments

1share 1 0 0We spent all day yesterday at a Boy Scout Family Campout, hence the lack of posts. We didn’t actually spend the night either night, just went for the day. It was a blast, and it was enough. So today I’ve just now been thinking about my new task for the week. At […]

Me vs. Laundry

October 23, 2009 By Dana White | 32 Comments

12shares 1 1 10I’m okay with clothing as individual pieces, I even like a lot of it, but as an entire group of my family’s clothing, I despise it. Does this make me a laundrist? Laundry overwhelms me. But since I have a moral dilemma with going to the grocery store naked, I have to […]

Daily Checklist

October 23, 2009 By Dana White | 2 Comments

1share 0 0 1Today was Pumpkin Math at my son’s kindergarten. So fun. They estimate and then measure the weight, number of seeds, circumference, etc. We had a blast and it’s nice to feel like a hero. My son had told his teacher that I am a professional pumpkin cutter, because I won a contest […]

Random Story

October 22, 2009 By Dana White | 11 Comments

1share 1 0 0I’ve been doing Works For Me Wednesday most Wednesdays since I started the blog. It’s one of those blog carnivals that seems right up my blog alley. We slobs are generally very creative at coming up with inventive solutions since we generally put things off until the very . . . . […]

Getting worse before it gets better?

October 22, 2009 By Dana White | 1 Comment

2shares 2 0 0I’m a little frustrated right now. The final push in getting my office/game room finished is here. My mom is going to be here to help me paint in just a little over a week. I have two of four walls almost completely finished. I have my system down. I’m going back […]
