I’m off rhythm. I have forgotten to start the dishwasher the past two nights. This means that I obviously can’t unload it the next morning before the kids get up, and start putting in the day’s dishes as they happen. It really throws things off.
I also forgot/refused to wipe down the bathrooms two nights ago, so I did it during the middle of the day yesterday. I then, of course, didn’t do it again last night. So I better remember/not refuse to do it tonight, or I’ll have missed a day.
It definitely is becoming a habit to do some tasks after the kids go to bed, but it’s not there yet.
Today I:
Made bed.
Swept kitchen.
Shoved more dishes into the already-full dishwasher.
Did a focused pickup.
Put dirty clothes in our bedroom in their proper place.
Checked bathrooms for clutter.
Another reason that I have to keep the rhythm going is that since I didn’t need to wipe down the bathrooms, I also for some reason totally forgot to put out clothes and make lunches.
Changed all sheets and am currently doing laundry. More about that in the next post, as the sheet-changing only reminded me that I have serious issues.

I think some of your sucess comes from your first chore to make your bed. We never make ours and laundry, well, I am good about keepeing it up and cleaned just not folded and put away which makes my house look even clutterier

Biggest help for our beds… two sets of sheets for each one, and stored under the mattress. Then when I strip the beds, I make them up right then, and throw the dirty in the laundry, then when clean, I fold it up into it’s pillow case and slide it back under the mattress.
Now I just need it to get the stripping part into a routine… because it can still be weeks between washing! Ugh…I just hate the thought of it, seems like so much work- even though it only takes a few minutes… my mind thinks it takes much longer than that and I just can’t convince it otherwise.
