Who Cleaned the Tower After Rapunzel Got a Life?

We saw Tangled a few weeks ago.

It was adorable.

But I couldn’t help noticing how when she was locked in the tower for years and years, with no life . . . she did lots of cleaning.

Lots.

Before 9 a.m.

Then she did various art projects.

However, when she got out, started having a little fun, meeting people, doing things . . . she didn’t do any cleaning.

At least none that was worth singing about.

Kind of reminds me of the first semester I transferred to a new college, before I made friends.

I got a 4.0 that semester.  Once I got a life . . . never again.

There you go.  That’s what a slob gets out of watching an animated movie.

You Can Look Up Now.

December 14, 2010 By Dana White 8 Comments

0shares 0 0 0 Why the crazy get-up? Because of this: Which came off of this: Which now, thankfully, looks like this: Hubby’s office party is Thursday night. Here. It’s December, and I can’t pull the old “Wow, it’s hot in here, so I have to keep the ceiling fan going!” trick. I had to […]

My Christmas Home Tour

December 13, 2010 By Dana White 5 Comments

46shares 28 0 18 If you’re a regular reader, you know that I don’t give real-life home tours very often. The rooms where my parties are held are generally . . . the rooms that are clean. You’ll definitely never hear me ask if you want to see my master bedroom. But an on-the-blog home […]

Cleaning for Friends

December 10, 2010 By Dana White 2 Comments

0shares 0 0 0 Today we had our Strawberry Party. I mentioned yesterday that it was the brainchild of my four year old.  I turned it into a bit of a Christmas party as well, and the kids decorated felt stockings with cotton balls and glitter glue.   We ate Christmas tree shaped pb&j sandwiches, and […]

Kitchen, Kitchen, Kitchen, Kitchen, Kitchen!

December 9, 2010 By Dana White 9 Comments

18shares 18 0 0 I have to keep my KITCHEN clean!!! I know this. If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s how much of a difference it makes in my entire house when the kitchen is under control. And how much of a (negative) difference it makes when the kitchen is out of control. […]

A Love/Hate Relationship With My Wood Floors – And a Libman Freedom Spray Mop Giveaway!

December 8, 2010 By Dana White 151 Comments

5shares 3 0 2If you’re a regular reader, you have probably noticed that I’m not doing this deslobification thing according to a well-laid-out long-term plan. Because whenever I try a well-laid-out long-term plan . . . my mind starts to wander. Basically, I choose something that bugs me and/or boggles my mind about my house, […]

Inside My Head on Cleaning Day – Rational Vs. Irrational Thoughts

December 7, 2010 By Dana White 12 Comments

10shares 1 1 8I declared today Cleaning Day. Being so far behind after my total-house-neglect of the past week (or so), plus several out-of-routine-fun-things coming in the weeks before Christmas made me realize that if I didn’t double up on some cleaning tasks, there was a good chance that the house would stay in its […]

Frozen Meals Make Even "Normal" Days Less Hectic

December 7, 2010 By Dana White 1 Comment

9shares 0 0 9Last week was crazy. Absolutely no deslobification progress was made. None. And when it comes to cooking for the family?  Ummm, I didn’t. But this week I’m working to get back to normal-ish. So since I’m determined to get back to cooking every night, I’m working on the little-by-little freezer cooking approach. […]

New Week . . . No Excuses

December 6, 2010 By Dana White 7 Comments

0shares 0 0 0Last week was crazy.  I felt completely justified serving my family convenience foods and pretending not to notice the growing piles of clutter. But this week it’s back to “normal.” Whatever that means three weeks before Christmas. Or whatever that means in the other 49 weeks of the year. I focused on […]
