Certain Things Shouldn’t Wait Until “Project Time”

January 8, 2015 By Dana White 8 Comments

The Cardtable I should have moved a long time ago at ASlobComesClean.com

See that card table?

I didn’t.

Even though I passed it fifty (or 700) times before I actually moved it.

Even though I jumped out of my skin when it got knocked over by someone else walking by who isn’t quite as adept at Slob Walking/Clutter Avoidance.

A metal table falling flat onto a wood floor makes a rather loud and startling noise.

The first time I heard it was at one of our home group meetings, back in November.

Last week, when working on this room (as a project), I finally moved the offending/falling/startling table to the garage.

Where it goes.

Where I would look for it if I needed it.

A whole ten feet away.

Really. Some things just need to get moved. The first time they become visible. (Or audible.) I have no idea why I waited until it was part of a project.

Whatever. Now it has been moved.

Yay For Decisions I Don’t Have to Make!

January 6, 2015 By Dana White 11 Comments

As a born cheapskate, I was thrilled when a random Disney cast member (that’s what they call everyone who works at Disney World, from dancers to floor-moppers) gave my kids each a Mickey straw. I was extra thrilled when I saw that they usually cost .59 cents each. Three kids times .59 cents – that’s […]

December 29, 2014 By Dana White 7 Comments

Recently, I’ve discovered the world of used clothing online. I once sold clothing on eBay all the time, but due to the time and effort involved in that, I no longer do. There are several sites I now know of that allow you to send in your used clothing and get paid for it or […]

Keepable Resolution: Get Rid of Stuff You Hate

December 26, 2014 By Dana White 21 Comments

I shared a lengthy and somewhat philosophical idea for a keepable resolution yesterday. Today, I’m keeping it short and sweet. Get rid of stuff you hate. I know. Nice people aren’t supposed to use that word. We’re supposed to love everyone and everything. That applies to people, for sure, but as a slob I tend […]
