In the summer of 2012, we got a new TV.
When we got it, it didn’t make any sense to hook up the VCR and DVD players that we never used, but that had been hooked up to our old TV.
We didn’t hook them up, but we also didn’t move them.
Right. They sat there.
Shoved to the side of a TV that didn’t have a flat top for stacking stuff on it. Shoved to the side of a TV stand that didn’t have room for all the things we do use. And definitely didn’t have room for things we don’t use.
In the fall of 2013 (yes, over a year later), I finally moved the unused-for-years-and-unplugged-for-more-than-a-year VCR and DVD players out of the room.
Not out of my house, but out of the room.
And that’s something, right?
I know. It’s barely something. I’m just not ready to believe we’ll never ever again watch a VHS tape.

Still hanging off the edge. Still dusty.
Blergh.
