This took me years to figure out! Finally got to the point of looking at an item, even new items, as I will end up donating in a year or two, so not worth buying.
This has made such a huge difference in my house.

Dana, I love ya. So does my son, btw. He’s 8 and frequently invokes your name in our home as our ‘patron saint of slobs’.
So, while doing the dishes is THE #1 high-impact action… definitely keeping the clutter at bay has had an impact. This new mindfulness of ‘stuff’ and ‘clutter’ completely overhauls how I shop, how we did presents this year, and our plans for kids birthdays.
