I stumbled (through one of you) upon the 31 Days Challenge over at The Nester.
The Beautiful, Lovely, Awe-Inspiring Nester.
The basic idea is this: Write about one thing, any one thing . . . for every day in October.
Every . . . single . . . day.
My reaction was a bunch of “buts.”
But . . . I don’t post on weekends! (And it started on a weekend!)
But . . . I’m afraid of commitment!
But . . . what if it inhibits my creativity!
See all of those exclamation points and italics? Mmm-hmmmm.
But . . . then I started thinking. We’re heading into Holiday Season, and I’m feeling rather overwhelmed with my schedule changes. It might be good to have some accountability and renewed focus.
Y’know, rather than just 31 days of excuses.
So, with the goal being “focus” I decided to commit to write for 31 days about details. I’ll likely double post on days when something else is burning in my soul, but I’m committed to noticing and acting upon details in October. Every single day in October.
I’m not sure where this will go, but I’m starting with simple details. Like this:
A wadded up rug that I see every single time I . . . . you know . . . but somehow never fix. Why in the world this seems like a “job” I don’t know. It’s not a job, it’s a detail.
Two seconds later (plus photo-taking-time), and this task detail is finished.
You can see all of my 31 Days of Details (so far) here.
Go see what other bloggers are committing to write about for 31 days over at The Nester.

Yay! So glad I know I’m going to get to read you every single day this month! I was a bit put off by the weekend thing, too. I take three day weekends every week. Or, maybe that’s four….or five….

PS: You do not have to live with that rug…..

I am so glad my fiance and I are not the only ones who leave small things like that undone. A few weeks ago some nearly empty bottles I had turned upside down in the shower fell into the tub. Have either of us picked them up? No.. we just scoot them to the end of the tub we’re not using with our toes. -_- *sigh* I think when I get home I’ll pick them up and either decide if they’re worth keeping to get the last bit out or just put them in the recycling. THANK YOU for the motivation!
