Tomorrow is October. As in, Fall.
Wow.
So, it’s time to share my decluttering progress for September. Thankfully, it’s better than August . . . which only had one decluttering project.
Normal Friend came over again today, because she honestly loves helping me clean.
So . . . completely . . . bizarre.
This week has been crazy, and my house didn’t look fabulous. Or really even presentable. I wanted to clean before she came over, but it didn’t happen yesterday, and this morning got away from me. Before I knew it she was here. Trying to fit in a workout, counting money for the school fundraiser, and Bible study time all before ten when you’ve neglected your daily tasks all week . . . doesn’t leave much time for cleaning.
Yes, did you notice that I mentioned a workout? I’m proud of that.
Anyway, letting her see my home in its natural state after a crazy un-focused-on-housekeeping week was hard. When I explained that this was waaaaay better than it would have been after a similar week pre-blog, her eyes widened and she had a hard time keeping her oh-honey-everyone’s-house-gets-messy-sometimes smile on.
When I stop to think how much I’ve decluttered over the past two years, sometimes I am in awe that I was ever able to have people in my home. The junk . . . is never-ending.
So, it does feel good every month to stop and pay attention to what I’ve purged. Most of my decluttering efforts for the month were the subjects of webisodes. Such fabulous motivation to do a project every week.
I guess in my case, it’s a good thing for a slob to also be an exhibitionist.
I re-decluttered my linen closet. And for now, it’s working! It has stayed in decent shape for an entire month, because there’s so much LESS in there.
I also cleared off my Dining Room table. I declared that I couldn’t put ONE thing on there, because it would only attract more things. I was right about that. But I did. And it did.
The spot in my master bedroom where piles form (see how it sounds like they form on their own?) was de-pile-i-fied in a matter of minutes. Thankfully, that space is still pile-free.
I cleaned my master bedroom. Cleaned and decluttered all at once, almost like those two things aren’t completely different. Fine, it was really Normal Friend who did most of the work, but I did try to help.
And finally, I cleared out my Donation Spot. Yesterday. So the stuff still needs to be dropped off at our local charity.
Whew!
What have you done (or not done) this month? Feel free to leave a comment, or link up a blog post sharing your own decluttering efforts for September. If you do link up below, please link back to A Slob Comes Clean within your post.

Today I guess we decluttered a broken blower motor from the furnace, and air filters. Haha!
Also a cute head band my girls weren’t fond of.
And a can of biscuits that were on the way of expiring. Food, either trashed, donated or eaten is my favorite thing to declutter!!
Prayers for the papers & memory items!

Turns out I forgot a whole filing cabinet drawer when I was decluttering office supplies the last few weeks. Did that yesterday, also moving it next to the others to clear a space next to the back door.
Actually emptied the drawer, so was able to put all papers and labels from the file box into that drawer! Spouse was so pleased with the cleared space that he immediately left his video game to sweep the floor there. ^^
