I’ll Just Leave it Out . . . For Now

It’s the second day of 31 Days of Details.

I’m already glad that I chose this topic, and that I took the challenge to write about “details” every day in October.

Why?

Because sometimes it’s only after I take care of a problem that I realize how much it has been bugging me.

Which, I know, doesn’t really make sense.

I have a handy-dandy TV stand that looks like luggage and has drawers with suitcase-ey handles that can hold all of our DVDs and VHS tapes.  Yes, we still have VHS tapes.

Anyway, these drawers work great for anything that we haven’t watched in . . . say . . . four months.

I’m going to guess four months, because a few weeks ago I got caught.  We hosted the first Sunday evening home group for this school year.  We ended last year (May) in the middle of a DVD series that we watch and then discuss on alternating weeks.  I was nervous about finding the DVD after all that time. Especially since I didn’t start looking for it until everyone was already here.

Things tend to disappear in our home.

“Luckily” I had nothing to worry about.  The DVD was easy to find because it was sitting in a stack on top of the DVD player.  Right where I put it . . . in May.

Thankfully, taking care of that detail today took less than 60 seconds.  Y’know, since the drawer where the DVDs are supposed to go was less than a foot away.

I even dusted.  Not very well, as evidenced by the picture, but I did.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about the DVD player hanging half-way off so that the remote can hit it . . . that really doesn’t bug me.

Yet.

The 31 Day Challenge is hosted by The Nester, Beauty and Bedlam, and other great blogs.  Go check out the ba-jillion other participants who all have unique topics!

LOL I find the same types of things around my home. I lose track of time and think – “Oh, we must have just done x,y,z” – only to realize it’s been months and months since something has been touched.

Glad I’m not the only one 🙂

You aren’t concerned the dvd player will fall? That would worry me.

Perhaps it has never bothered me because there was always something weighing it down . . . . but now that you say that . . .
