I’m Just Not That Funky

On our annual trip to the mall last December, I spent thirteen dollars at a little kiosk that was going out of business and selling all of their jewelry for $1.00 per item.

Mmmm-hmmm, you read that right.  I went a bit overboard.

Recently, one earring of this pair went flying off of the counter and shattered.  I was quite proud that I actually threw it away and didn’t save it for some sort of never-gonna-happen craft project.

I thought I must be making some real progress in this change-my-brain deslobification process.

Until I noticed the the other earring still sitting on my counter a few days later.  It’s a cute earring, but I don’t think I’m going to wear it without a match.

I’m just not that funky.

Perfect size for an I Spy bottle, or ABC box! :)(I guess I'm not really encouraging you to toss it am I?)

I love to make earrings into necklaces. It's perfect for earrings that have lost their mate. Just remove the earring hook, thread some ribbon or a chain through the hole, and voila.

Of course, IF you're not going to make it into a necklace, it should so totally be tossed. I hear you as a sort-of former slob. 🙂

    I agree with the necklace.

I'd save it too with the idea that I could do something with it. Or course that doesn't help you much either does it?

    Another necklace vote here too.
My gosh seems quite a few of us just don't have the mentality to just toss stuff.

Pretty earrings! I am proud of you for not saving it for something or other at some future unknown date! Ha ha! I would totally do that – "Ooh, I can do something with this someday", then I wouldn't find it unless we move again. =)

I just went through some boxes in my garage (boxes that have been there since we moved in, uh, two years ago) today and found several odds and ends like that. I was asking myself "Why on earth did I save ONE earring and broken teacups and a ziploc bag full of silk flower pieces?" Now reading these really very crafty, smart suggestions I remember why. I was going to make a necklace/mosaic/something with those weird little things. Apparently I'm not the only one with these great ideas that never happen…

Yes, I’m joining the necklace gang, accept that I’ve discovered lace making and spangled bobbins – which you need loads of and spangles are little pretties to weight down the bobbins and are just perfect for this kind of thing especially if it’s also got sentimental value. hmmm I think I could write a blog post about this. – better go sketch it out and add it to the list of blog post ideas /drafts/blog clutter. – Oh dear, did someone say issues?

PS: Sorry Nony, I’ll try really hard not to comment any more today.
