Oh, That’s Right! It’s Monday . . .

My days are all confused.

I am bone weary from my non-stop learning at the Savvy Blogging Summit, and haven’t quite registered that today is the beginning of a brand new week.

But when this pile outside my laundry room caught my eye, I realized that today is Monday.

Because Monday is Laundry Day.

And today is the day when hubby knows to put his socks in the little hallway where I normally sort laundry.

While I do feel some guilt that I have absolutely no intention of doing any laundry today . . . I also feel a little fluttery inside.

It makes me happy and a little proud to know that he believes in me. That my laundry routine is enough of a routine that he notices.

It definitely wasn’t that way pre-blog.

Of course, then I remember that he puts them there because he knows that even with a full-fledged Laundry Day it will never occur to me to go looking for his sock bag.

I love that man.

Creamy Chicken and Spinach Enchilada Recipe

July 18, 2011 By Dana White 8 Comments

447shares 124 1 322 I’m tired.  Crazy tired from my fun, mind-boggling, and totally-worth-it trip to the Savvy Blogging Summit.  A menu plan is the last thing on my mind, but I know I’ll be grateful for this blogging-for-accountability thing tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. if I can get one done tonight. And in an effort […]

Introducing Myself as a Slob

July 15, 2011 By Dana White 18 Comments

6shares 6 0 0 I’m at the Savvy Blogging Summit, and that’s my view as I write this morning. This very early morning when I should be sleeping, but can’t. Perhaps that is due to my still-spinning head after only a half-day in the presence of blogging greatness. It’s fun (and frightening) to go into […]

Tunnel-Vision – (I Like It!)

July 13, 2011 By Dana White 8 Comments

1share 1 0 0 I’ve had tunnel-vision lately. It’s a good thing, and a bad thing. Honestly, I like it. In dealing with my Slob Problem, balance is my biggest challenge.  When my house is under control, my brain is free to be creative, and I can do small projects here and there more easily […]

My Bed: Our Home’s Housekeeping Barometer

July 12, 2011 By Dana White 11 Comments

31shares 26 0 5Please note:  I’m claiming artistic license more than scientific fact in this post.  I’m okay with that. I think I have some sort of disability when it comes to caring about weather predictions. I can not watch the weather. I’m incapable. I’ve tried. There are times when I know inside my logical-grown-up […]

I’m Off to Learn More About Blogging (Way More)!

July 11, 2011 By Dana White 4 Comments

2shares 2 0 0 Later this week, I’ll be heading to the Savvy Blogging Summit to learn more about how to improve this little ol’ blog of mine. And I’m so very thankful that part of my trip is being sponsored by Clever Girls Collective. If you’ve been around here long, you know that I don’t […]

Practical Tips for Teaching Kids to Cook

July 11, 2011 By Dana White 10 Comments

367shares 169 0 198 I’ve shared that one of my summer goals is to teach my boys to cook. Nothing fancy. No chef hats or complicated techniques. Just survival cooking. The kind that will keep them alive in their bachelor years. They are seven and nine, and they’ve helped me in the kitchen in the […]

A Small Improvement for Those Reading Backwards

July 9, 2011 By Dana White 11 Comments

1share 1 0 0If you were in the middle of reading backwards when I switched from Blogger to WordPress last month, you were probably frustrated that the way you were reading changed. I was frustrated too. Frustrated doesn’t even describe it.  I’m still working to figure out how to make it the way it was, […]

Organizing Systems Don’t (Do the) Work

July 7, 2011 By Dana White 5 Comments

293shares 288 0 5 I’ve purged. I’ve figured things out. I’ve established routines. And yet, there are still days when I could totally qualify for “one of those” shows.  The ones where they take before pictures and viewers are horrified.  Then a heroic organizer comes in and establishes wonderful systems that will forever change the person’s […]
