Hi, Dana !
Can you do one of two things: 1) Rename your podcast to something like, “Personal life stories.” OR 2) Please talk about cleaning and organizing ?
You can be very entertaining, but you DO NOT talk about cleaning or organizing. I’m sorry I don’t need all of your personal examples and REALLY dislike all the promoting of your books, CDs, etc. of course, talking about your sponsors might not be a option. You REALLY need to make a change, or I and many others will stop listening. Good luck !
Ee Smith, Seriously?? How rude!!! You might stop listening, but I doubt “many others” will.
Dana has a very large following, in the US and several countries. If you don’t want to listen to Dana’s podcast, that’s your prerogative. She has many kindred spirits who understand her and get what she’s saying. You apparently don’t understand her or get what she is saying.
She has put in a lot of hours, sharing her experiences, on her podcasts. What do you pay to listen to those podcasts? Nothing!! She charges nothing for sharing her experiences. She sells her books, CDs, etc, and has sponsors to support her podcasts. I listen to her podcasts, and enjoy them tremendously. I have paid nothing for the blessing of listening to Dana talk. I have bought all of her books and have enjoyed them all, as well.
She doesn’t need luck to continue her podcasts. She has a mission and she is carrying it out. If you have listened to all of her podcasts you would know that.
Thank you for putting your story out there. I was listening to this podcast today and you said the part about ” people who don’t love cleaning and organizing” and I usually think to myself “who loves cleaning & organizing?” Then I thought of at least one person I know that does & of the people who usually write organizing books. And I realized that I like organizing. But I have so much stuff that I cannot keep most of it neat. I have an organized pantry and dresser drawers and my Christmas decorations are neatly organized. Anyway, I’m rambling but the main thing I wanted to tell you is that your blog really has made a difference in my life and the lives of my family. I have gotten rid of car loads of stuff over the past few years. My house is generally neater and easier to get cleaned up when it does get messy.
Oh, and I love that when I declutter an area it’s much easier to clean and keep neat. I still have a way to go but I don’t feel hopeless about it anymore (thanks daily habits–even if I don’t do them everyday).
Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the way you have been so transparent with us about your struggles that many of us share.
I, personally love your style of communication and finally feel hope for the first time in an area of my life that I thought would be a burden forever. Thank you for your strategies and stories, I have learned from all of them!!
Hi Dana, I’m from England, UK & I really appreciate your books & podcasts as well as your blog because they have benefitted me tremendously. I finally get the ‘container concept’ & don’t need to organise or make decisions (heart palpitation time) because I can just declutter the easy of the easiest stuff! Thank you so much for sharing your story with all of us slobs!
