Out of Sick Days

I’m out of sick days.
Yesterday, I was full-on sick.  I left church early, went to bed, and canceled some activities.
Today, I’m feeling better, but far from 100%.  Ideally, I probably need to take it easy and get some rest so I could fully recover.  It’s a great day for watching a movie with my daughter, or going through some papers that need to be filed while I sit on the couch with a blanket around me.
But even though I don’t get paid for this full-time profession, I can’t afford to take a sick day.  My parents are coming to spend the night, a rare privilege since they only live an hour away, and we’re all so happy to have them as guests.  I’ve been keeping up with my daily and weekly tasks, so things are in pretty good shape.
But . . . all of the unfinished projects that I unearthed during Bug-Man-Prep were sitting . . . on our guest bed.
You know, the projects I’ve been putting off for the past month, after re-discovering them in various places, where they’d been put off . . . for years.
And since I’m determined to not just redistribute them (a method I have perfected over the years), I had to tackle the bed.  Turns out, much of it was trash, a few things had real homes, two pictures were instantly transformed from clutter when I hung them up (though not in “perfect” spots), and the rest could be divided into two categories:  coupons and school papers.
Since those two were fairly significant projects (perfect things to work on if I could afford to take a sick day), I did leave them unfinished.  All of the coupons are together in a laundry basket and the school projects are in a tub.
Now, the room is ready to welcome guests.
After I took this picture, I pulled the trundle out from under the bed and put the “projects” under it.
Now off to do a general pick-up, which is all I would have had to do today if I hadn’t let those projects pile up.

Some times having company over really makes obvious the things we put off doing. I clean like a crazy woman when I know my mom is coming over. She is motivation for sure!
    Looks good Nony!

oh hope you are feeling better soon. I have been sick for almost two weeks and finally today I feel soooo much better human almost!!!!!!!!
I looked around my house this weekend and it looked like a cyclone had hit it. I started working right away on just picking up . I have a pile of clothes in my bedroom on my dresser that need to be put away. (might take longer than a day though my task for this week)

Good job, good job! I'm so proud of you for not just throwing it all in bins and shoving it elsewhere. Hope you're feeling better.
