For Focus Check Friday, I declared that I was going to get back to my tangible Daily Checklist. You know, actually checking it off. Not just using my (completely unreliable) head.
I resisted this today. The house looks nice. We had home-groups here last night, and things are picked up, cleared off and overall pretty good. I’m working on laundry, so what more can you expect?
But alas, my own words came back to me. “All housekeeping points expire at midnight.”
So, I got up from my ultra-comfy computer desk chair, and I took my list around the house, checking it off. I picked up shoes, closed cabinet doors, picked up clothes off of the master bedroom floor, checked bathrooms for clutter, and was proud of myself that the other things on the list had already been done.
This morning I had:
Made our bed.
Emptied the dishwasher.
Cleaned up kitchen.
Swept kitchen.
Hung up clothes in master bedroom.
Made a list, and I’ve been checking off lots of odds-and-ends phone calls to be made.
We put our house on the market this past weekend.
That is a pretty motivating factor to stay on top of things. It takes that much to make me stay with the task list!
