Scared of a Plan

When I went to Orgjunkie.com to link my Menu Plan (and account of my insane and exhausting grocery trip) for the week, I saw that she’s having a 28 day organizing round-up.

I’ve successfully ignored these things in the past.
But do you ever see or hear something and realize that you can’t ignore it anymore?
I’ve looked at her organizing round-ups before and have been very intimidated. I started this blog as an accountability system for myself, and it has worked very well for me. My daily tasks have made a huge difference. I’ve decluttered what I’m guessing is a literal ton of stuff. But I’ve resisted the “plan” part of it. I have such an excess of stuff that simply decluttering has made a huge impact.
I do realize, however, that the point will come when I will have to do some real problem solving. Real organizing. And just last night, I was frustrated about this corner full of stuff.

It’s part of our office/gameroom, which has made huge strides since the beginning of this blog. I love that room now. I consider it a utilitarian room, meaning it will contain storage spots for various hobbies and activities. This corner holds stuff that mostly should be in here, but it has no rhyme or reason or easy accessibility.

So this corner is my spot to organize over the next month of this roundup. I honestly have no idea how to even start.

The corner contains a filing cabinet that hasn’t been utilized in several years and now just contains scripts and old tax returns. It also has a rolling cart that is supposed to go in a baby’s room that I’m using for pre-school activities and workbook storage. It has so much in it that it can’t even stand up. Evidently not a good idea after all. (Another example of why I don’t trust myself when it comes to organizational problem-solving.)

There you have it. We’ll see how this goes.

Check out other people’s intended projects at Orgjunkie.com.

You probably won't believe this, but I AGAIN have something exactly like yours! LOL! I have that baby rack thing…got it at Target or Toys R Us, I think. (The "baby" is 4…my memory's just not that good) Mine is sitting in the garage, holding clothes that didn't sell at last summer's garage sale, yet never made it to Goodwill. It also has 2 broken dowels on the bottom front because we crammed too much stuff on it. *sigh* I told you, you weren't alone! LOL!

That's so funny! I got it at Target. And I'm thinking it's meant to hold a "normal person" amount of lightweight diapers, not all the stuff a slob can load it down with.
