See that card table?
I didn’t.
Even though I passed it fifty (or 700) times before I actually moved it.
Even though I jumped out of my skin when it got knocked over by someone else walking by who isn’t quite as adept at Slob Walking/Clutter Avoidance.
A metal table falling flat onto a wood floor makes a rather loud and startling noise.
The first time I heard it was at one of our home group meetings, back in November.
Last week, when working on this room (as a project), I finally moved the offending/falling/startling table to the garage.
Where it goes.
Where I would look for it if I needed it.
A whole ten feet away.
Really. Some things just need to get moved. The first time they become visible. (Or audible.) I have no idea why I waited until it was part of a project.
Whatever. Now it has been moved.
Figuring out how our brains work—it comes up in so many of our daily activities now that you have made us aware of it. My husband’s brain is much less organized than mine (I once commented on the state of his desktop and he said “that’s nothing. You should see the mess inside my Mind!”) but He is the one who would have put away the card table immediately (or at least soon) while I waited for the project time. Love your analyzing and making us aware of these details about our amazing brains. Makes me appreciate my husband more:) Keep going! This is fun!
OH. .MY. ..GOSH!!! I about fell over when I read slob walking! Someone who gets it! I call my husband Godzilla because of his lack of understanding of the importance of this art.
I have to say this is one of my biggest frustrations with my wonderful Hubby… Just PUT IT AWAY! But that isn’t how his brain works…
I have one of those too. Won’t open a drawer or a door to put something away.
I hate that I get so used to seeing everything a disaster that it’s not until I take a photo, etc. that I notice the actual “things” that are lying around. I currently have a 2 year old that is potty trained except she hates to wear clothes so she goes to the potty and leaves her under ware any where she pleases! I end up noticing them days later because they blend it with all the toys and scattered mail…and empty cups…and…you know what I mean! 🙂
Isn’t it crazy how it always seems like it’s going to take so much time and effort to pit something away but yet while working around it you’re basically completing the slob olypics? No wonder normal people think we’re nuts! Haha
yah…been there…done that….uffda….so simple…
Oh, you are soooo like me. Slob walking – I laughed out loud at that! (My husband totally can’t do slob walking, though he surely must be pretending not to be able to.)
