There’s an Amazon affiliate link in this post. Yes. There really is.
I believe that optimism plays a part in my excessive losing of things.
Things always turn up.
Eventually.
The lost hairbrush or the lost shoe or the second set of keys? We’ll find it one of these days.
We always do.
So I don’t usually stress out about looking for things immediately. Y’know, when they’re most likely to be found . . .
See those two bottles? I only ordered the second one after the first had been lost for a very long time. It was lost in the last few months of first grade, but then we had summer. I’m not on top of thumb-sucking in the summer like I am in the school year. While Mavala is THE best/worst icky-thumb-stuff out there, swimming several hours a day is the one thing that will remove that awesomely horrific taste.
But alas, when it was time for school to start, I needed to stop the hoping and order some more.
And of course, soon after it arrived . . . I found the first bottle.

There’s an affiliate link up there, but here’s one more: Don’t forget about Amazon’s 12 Days of Deals for Kindle books! For twelve days, they are offering 3 of 2013’s best selling books per day for only 2.99! This is only for the Kindle versions. I’m stocking up since a Kindle is on my wish list this year, but you can also read the books using a free app for your computer or smart phone. I’ll link to the 12 Days of Deals for Kindle books page each day. ANYthing you purchase on Amazon after you follow one of these links earns me a small commission.

That is always how it is in our house. We can’t find something and we know that the minute we go and buy another one the first one will show up. My daughter had borrowed a Barbie movie from some friends. We couldn’t find it forever and than I saw it for $5.00 at Target so I bought it. Two days later we found the original under a seat in our van. We gave the new one to the friends and kept the old one. Why oh why does it always happen like this??
Too funny! That’s the way it works with too many things. I’ve lost things for so long the I’ll forget I even have them. For me, all I have to do is blink and I’ll forget I have it. I bought a bottle of selenium in October only to find … after being sick for several weeks … that it contained wheat. (seriously…WHO expects a supplement to have gluten?)
So…I ordered a three pack on Amazon because I couldn’t find any gluten-free selenium within reasonable driving distance. Less than two weeks later, in my supplements tote, I FOUND a large bottle of GLUTEN-FREE selenium. A bottle I’d ordered on Amazon four months before I bought the stuff that made me sick.
Oh well. I should have enough of that particular supplement to last me about a year. 🙂
This is why the last time we moved I found dozens of pairs of scissors. Of course after we moved and settled in all those dozens of scissors disappeared again!
WHERE was it?!
I think it was under a piece of furniture that we moved on that day when we painted the entryway and dusted the walls in the living room.
I wish I was that laid back because when I loose something I drop everything I am doing to find it. I usually make more of a mess because I go so crazy looking. I have gotten better at letting it go after a while. But seriously one time I spent 3 whole days looking for a pen cap.
St. Anthony is my bestest bestest friend! We talk A LOT!
Something’s lost and can’t be found, please St. Anthony look around ….
I’m the same way. I’ll look for things but if I don’t find them in about ten minutes, I’ll sort of shrug and move on. We had a battery charger that was missing for weeks. I knew as soon as I bought a new one, we’d find the old one. So I actually bought a cheaper version so that at least I would have doesn’t spent $30-40 trying to replace something we were totally going to find as soon as I brought a replacement home. Though, we still haven’t found the original. Luckily, we don’t have that many batteries to charge.
When I finally find any of the many things that have been lost or misplaced, I immediately think, “Where is the first place I would look for this?” That has really helped me a great deal.
