Digging Through the Donate Box

Digging Through the Donate Box at ASlobComesClean.com

My Donate Box has been overflowing.

I have no excuse.

Most moments when this fact happens to enter my brain, I’m irritated with myself for not having called the lovely man with the van who will take it all away for me.

But then there are those moments when the Queen of What-If Scenarios that lives within my head feels overly justified for having procrastinated. Those moments when she doesn’t want to go shopping on a Sunday afternoon in December for a gag gift.

Pictured above is not the actual gag gift I took to our Sunday School class party. That one didn’t work so it went in the trash. I took a similar plug-and-play game that did work.

And it was stolen once, so obviously it went to a good home that wanted it.

Yay for two things (out of three overflowing boxes) being truly gone from my home.

Love that you found a way to get two items out of your house … permanently. I’m jealous though. I was chatting earlier with someone who had curbside recycling included with their trash service. All you have to do is call someone and they will come and get your donations. Neither of those kinds of services are available in my area. Clearly living in a smaller community has some disadvantages. But thank goodness there are places to take the overflow from our homes, regardless of how we have to get them there. 🙂

I did the same thing the other day! My son had to have a white elephant gift for his youth group party, so I went shopping in my donate pile. Perfect!

    Really enjoy your blog.

In my old neighborhood the thrift store trucks came by regularly and picked things up. I was pretty good about always having at least a bag of stuff. Not sure about my new neighborhood, though. I hope so because if I have to deliver it myself I probably won’t do it.

Dana, I just read the 28 days book and loved it! I can’t wait to read the rest of your e-books. 5 out of my 6 kids are still living at home, 2 are homeschooling, Etc. I work hard every day, but I am spinning my wheels because I am way too project oriented! I am going to review your book on Amazon as soon as I figure out how to do it on my phone or find my laptop charger…whichever comes first. 🙂
