Focus Check Friday – Getting Back to Normal(ish)

Last week I shared that my focus for the week was to enjoy my family.  I did.  Our vacation was fun, and although the long trip home wore us out, it was time to be together.  I’m especially proud of how well our kids did with all of the car-time.

For next week, my goal is to have a “normal” summer week . . . whatever that is.  We did well for the first few weeks of summer with the kids learning to do some major cleaning tasks.  Since the kids have been gone for two and a half weeks, and the newness of summer has worn off, I’m sure that reminding them that we are living in the Summer of Clean may present some challenges.  If we can get the basics done each day, I’ll call it a success.

How was your week?  What is your focus for next week?  It’s so difficult to keep on track during the summer, but I find that taking a moment every week to stop and focus helps to keep the weeks from flying by without a thought given to the state of our home.

I encourage you to stop and think as well.  You can link up a blog post below, leave a comment, or talk to yourself while you take a hot bath.  If you do link up below, please say something like “I’m participating in Focus Check Friday over at A Slob Comes Clean” and then link back here.  If you have any questions about how to do that, please let me know, I’d love to help.

I just wanted to post that I finally read all of your old posts on here and you have been the main reason for my house being somewhat clean over the last month.

Tonight, while reading over May/June/July's posts, I cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the kitchen and cleaned the living room. I have a long way to go, but you're definitely a great encouragement to see that I'm not alone and that I can do it. So… thanks! 🙂

Go you! "Somewhat clean" is a huge accomplishment, and something to be proud of! THanks so much for reading and for the encouraging words.

Thanks Nony! I'm so excited because all that's left of the major clutter is the master bedroom and to put away all the laundry from today. I need to do what you did with the clothes and get rid of most of them.

Still reading old posts as a break from cleaning I feel great that I have been making progress. This has been a major cleaning week. So focusing hand today so when I have house guests next week I won’t have to.
