Out for the day

Fun and crazy day today, but my kitchen was clean when I came home, and thanks to my Menu Plan, it will stay clean since supper is in the crockpot!

We left the house at 8:30 this morning and got home at 3:45. But before leaving I did my checklist. Go me!

Made bed.

Emptied dishwasher.

Cleaned up kitchen.

Swept kitchen.

Checked bathroom floors for stuff to pick up. Nothing! So that was easy.

Normally a day like today is a total excuse for having a wreck in the kitchen. Not anymore!

Also, I thought it was quite funny that even though I totally cleaned my sty of a dining room yesterday, my husband was more impressed with the bathroom floors. I hadn’t “cleaned” them, just picked up the dirty undies. Poor guy. I’m so thankful he puts up with me.

I can totally relate to your blog! I am so glad I found you! We homeschool and I work 36 hours a week, so I usually excuse my laziness and the house gets worse and worse. I can totally relate to what you said about your husband putting up with you! Sometimes I feel bad that they have to live in the mess when I am at work or that he has to keep up with the laundry because it is not part of my daily routine. I am just now realizing that it is as simple as just doing ‘non-negotiables’…which to me means conciously doing certain tasks til my brain says to do it without me having to think about it…even when I don’t want to!!! Thank you for being honest and transparent…it is truly a blessing.

I’m having one of those days that used to be an excuse right now! My hubby is off work today, and even though we have no plans, I usually take that as a reason to sit on my tush all day with him. I’m on day 6 on my blog! Yay!! My self disciplines so far are keeping up with a daily laundry schedule, which I’ve never done before, and not passing a piece of trash without tossing it. Thanks for today’s encouragement! -Tabitha

I know this is a very very old post but this one has really made me smile and encouraged me to keep going. I read dozens of articles on how to start decluttering as I was born without the “clean & tidy” gene.

    I still didn’t start decluttering.

what actually made me start was looking at before and after photos. My dining room table had a pile of clean laundry on it that almost touched the ceiling fan. 1 week later after finding your blog (I saw the dining room table before and after and knew you were the one for me!) and my dining room table is CLEAR. I have been refusing to go to bed while there is anything on it. I now clean up the mess every day. My kitchen has also been cleaned… and I decluttered our main junk drawer. Can you tell I’m proud of myself!!
