I’ve been off on a field trip for the day, gone from early morning until the afternoon.
My kitchen hasn’t been cleaned, my floors are unswept and the TV is covered in dust.
But . . . I’m proud of myself.
Why?
In the few minutes I had between picking up the un-field-tripping 4yo from her friend’s house and heading to the school to get the had-to-go-to-school-while-his-siblings-had-fun 7yo . . . I ran by the donation place and unloaded the back of my Suburban.
My Suburban which I filled up with playroom-excess . . . . YESTERDAY!
Ummm, that’s less than a 48 hour turnaround between decluttering and donating.
I’m pretty sure that’s a slob-record of some sort.
AND, I even took two boxes for the friend who watched my daughter while we were on the field trip.
See, I’m noble too.

Your post is motivating me to start looking into decluttering my junk rooms—yes I said rooms! The best decluttering comes when I can be ruthless and not let my emotions control me. But I tend to have this feeling of guilt in getting rid of items that I "had to have".
I'm taking baby steps and have been trying to run my dishwasher every night. It helps keep the kitchen from looking too out of control.

Last night, while searching for my husband’s flip flop, i was searching under reusable grocery bags. These bags were full of clothes. I thought the big one was donatable (is that a word?) clothes but had no idea they were ALL full of clothes that I have already made the decision to get rid of. I am for sure going to have to find a spot that’s permanent for donatables (I don’t care, making it a word) so i don’t have to search around what I already know I don’t want. P.S. never found the other shoe.
