Do you have a daughter who is a HUGE Harry Potter fan? Are you looking for Harry Potter gifts for a teenage girl that will make her eyes light up on Christmas morning, but won’t turn into clutter before New Year’s Day?
Me too.
I have found several things that I’m so excited to give my daughter, and even better, they’re things she’ll actually use! Yay for a clutter-free Christmas!
Now, to be clear, since I am the person who writes books about decluttering, what might not be clutter for us could very well be clutter for you. Or for your kid. We each have unique Clutter Thresholds.
But these are things I am excited to get for my daughter that I’m fairly confident won’t turn into clutter.

Socks! Dobby Socks, y’all!!!
Socks aren’t clutter, right? Especially if they’re socks she can wear to school! And there’s so much fangirl depth to the message on these socks that my heart feels all fuzzy thinking about them.
There are also lots of sets of Harry Potter themed socks listed on Amazon, like these ankle socks.
Harry Potter Wand Makeup Brushes
I was planning to buy my daughter some makeup brushes as stocking stuffers anyway, so I couldn’t resist these shaped like wands. Something I’d buy anyway, but in a fun form that will make her squeal? Yes, please!
Harry Potter Elder Wand Hairpins
Last year, one of my daughter’s favorite gifts was a bag filled with all sorts of hair accessories. I was planning to do something similar again this year, so this set of elder wand hairpins is perfect. And when she wears them, she’ll identify kindred spirits when random people recognize them for what they are.
Hogwarts House Headband
For a less subtle hair accessory, this Gryffindor headband will clearly identify a girl as a Potterhead. And if your daughter is from a different house, don’t worry. There are Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin headbands as well.
Hogwarts House Throw Blankets
For a larger item, these throw blankets might not be clutter in your home. (Unless you have more blankets than can fit in your blanket “contain”er!) I’ve actually been looking for a blanket like this one since I went to camp as a chaperone last summer. I saw all the cute blankets girls used to decorate their bunks. This will be a blanket my daughter can use to keep warm in the living room when I don’t want to turn up the heat in the winter, and a great way for her to put a little personality in her camp space next summer. When you go through that link, there are lots of different options of blankets including all four houses, The Marauder’s Map, and a TriWizard design.
Harry Potter Golden Snitch Earrings
I love these dangly golden snitch earrings. They’re basic enough to go with anything and another great way to connect with other Harry Potter fans who realize what they are!
And of course, there are the books. I’ve never been able to justify springing for the pretty complete set in the fancy box, but I have been adding one hardback to my daughter’s collection at a time. I pick them up at Half-Price Books.
Obviously, some of these would work for boys as well, but I’d also love to hear your ideas!
