Prior to working on the dresser, my 3 year old daughter was hanging out with me in my bedroom. As you know, closing drawers is a problem for me. My slob-brain just doesn’t register open cabinets or drawers.
She was pushing in the drawers on my dresser, and came to that one . . . ahem . . . special drawer.
She said, “Mommy, is this YOUR costume drawer?”
My response, “Uh, yeah, I guess so.”
I’m so eloquent.
Note to self: Keep drawers closed.
Bwahaha! That is hysterical.
I loved your post from yesterday. That must've felt so good!

Ha ha ha – I’m awake at 1am because of a vomiting child and needed this laugh!
Oh honey! I know I’m late to the party on this one, but I had to tell you, that made me laugh out loud! That has to be an unforgettable moment for you.
I love kids!
Bahahahaha!
Exactly. Move along lol.
Love it!!!!!! That is so something that would happen in my house!!!!!!
It took us 8 years to have our first baby, so my “costume drawer” got very large. We succeeded after 5 cycles of IVF and the “costumes” got moved to the loft when baby number 2 was on the way. I rediscovered them (the costumes, not the babies) recently in the large paper shopping bag I quickly stored them in. Here in the UK the loft is cold most of the year so the garments were just starting to smell a bit musty. I used all of Dana’s advice to let them go: to sort the costumes, wash and get them ready for eBay, discard a few items and put some in the recycling containers at the local supermarket, anonymously, while blushing. I wanted to keep some but they don’t fit any more. At some point I’ll treat myself to some new lingerie in my new size which better suits my current stage of life. FYI during pregnancies the normal clothes were stored in plastic storage crates with lids and they are still fresh enough to wear straight from the loft. Most are too small but they’re not “visible”, so they can stay where they are for now as there are more pressing priorities (is that tautology? ). Thank you for the advice, honesty and laughs Dana.
