using 5 step decluttering method healthy pace at aslobcomesclean.com 1 (1)

I’ve been given permission to share this reader’s story with you. I love her openness, and her willingness to share her personal experience making progress while facing mental health challenges. This isn’t intended to give mental health advice, but I hope it serves the purpose of giving you hope that it is possible to make real progress.

Dear Dana,

I would like to thank you for changing my life.

I listened to one of your books [Decluttering at the Speed of Life] and within three months I managed to declutter most of the things I don’t need, and my flat is always ready for visitors. I still have more decluttering to do but I’ve decided to have a small break as my mental health is low at the moment.

I have bipolar effective disorder and I rarely have a normal mood. I’m either hypomanic and chaotic or very depressed and cannot function. I’m really proud that despite the low mood episode I’m going through I have managed to keep my little place in order.

Your book taught me that I’m not a lost cause and by doing little and often I’ve managed to stick to a routine. This means that I have minimal work to do to keep my place clean and tidy. I clear up after myself and put things away as soon as I use them.

I regularly listen to your books as they keep me grounded and inspire me to keep up my good habits.

I cannot thank you enough for your help and the hope you have given me.
