Out of Sick Days

October 25, 2010 By Dana White 4 Comments

I'm out of sick days. Yesterday, I was full-on sick.  I left church early, went to bed, and canceled some activities. Today, I'm feeling better, but far from 100%.  Ideally, I probably need to take it easy and get some rest so I could fully recover.  It's a great day for watching a movie with my daughter, or going through some papers that … [Read more...]

Quick Job, Quick Post

October 22, 2010 By Dana White 6 Comments

I didn't have much time today. My choices?  Pretend I was doing very important bloggy-stuff on the computer, or see what I could do on another clutter spot in the office. The office . . . which I tend to think is fine because the floor is generally clear and  it is so much better than it used to be pre-blog. But which, in truth, has had no … [Read more...]

Waiting for Friday

October 21, 2010 By Dana White 13 Comments

As someone who rarely (OK, never) thinks to check pockets before doing laundry, I wash my fair share of Kleenex. Therefore, since my bed is the folding spot, I end up with quite a few of those white doo-lollies seen in the bottom right corner of the above picture. Now, for me . . . that picture could totally be an after picture.  It's in … [Read more...]

Don’t Lend Anything to Nony

October 20, 2010 By Dana White 4 Comments

Thanksgiving is coming. It's my year to host for my family. That means a minimum of 11 people spending the day here. Doing all sorts of crazy things like playing, looking for cooking utensils, watching football games, using bathrooms, etc. I'm excited to host, because I do love to have everyone all together.  I love to invite people … [Read more...]

Same Old Same Old

October 19, 2010 By Dana White 6 Comments

Really, I could just re-post Laundry Day's Fatal Flaw. Because today was basically a re-run. My daughter's room consistently gets back to disaster status because I don't work with her to clean it up every night. I think that's what frustrates me the most.  I know exactly what needs to be done.  I need to work with her every single night … [Read more...]

How To Freeze Pumpkin

October 18, 2010 By Dana White 8 Comments

Last week, when we had a fun Pumpkin Day, I had some extra cooked pumpkin that I needed to freeze for later use. Option One: Big glob frozen in a Ziploc bag, with no knowledge whatsoever of the amount or possibility of using only a portion of it. So I came up with Option Two (which contains an Amazon affiliate link): I froze the cooked … [Read more...]

Thinking Things Through

October 18, 2010 By Dana White 3 Comments

If I'm gonna . . . fail to make my bed because it's Saturday and that somehow seems to justify laziness . . . I probably shouldn't . . . . fall asleep while reading, using all of the wadded up blanket for warmth. Especially if . . . . it's now fall and the nights are getting cool. And extra especially if . . . . I haven't yet … [Read more...]

Menu Plan Monday – Desperately Needed

October 18, 2010 By Dana White 1 Comment

I've been slacking on menu planning, and definitely have felt the effects of my neglect in the rest of the house. I've said it many times before, but it's amazing how much of a difference it makes in my quest for order to not have to scramble to figure out what's for dinner each night. As I get back into the swing of things, my goal is to keep … [Read more...]

Defining Normal

October 15, 2010 By Dana White 113 Comments

First, let me say that in my non-expert opinion, there is no real definition for normal. If you have in-laws or have been a guest for more than two nights in someone's home, you know this. People are all unique. So, having stated that no one is truly normal, let me define "normal" for the purposes of this blog. My husband recommended that I … [Read more...]
