Decorating With Clutter

How did you read the title?

Decorating around clutter?

Or

Using clutter to decorate?

I guess the picture could be a little of both.  Notice that the beauty of the single streamer causes one’s eye to completely miss the stacked DVDs/VHSes.

Mmm-hmmm.

Notice that the single streamer is held in place by the stacked and colorful items.

Huh.

Yesterday was hubby’s birthday.  The kids decorated the living room beautifully with a single color of already-had-it-in-the-drawer-because-I-meant-to-use-it-for-something-but-obviously-never-did streamer.

And really, a stack of three items on top of the VCR is nothing.  There have been times when I probably could have won a record for my balancing abilities.

As a teenager I had to wash dishes. My dad used to marvel at my ability to stack every clean dish in the dish drainer at once, therefore making it unnecessary to do the added steps of drying and putting away the dishes. He thought I should win an award. Though he was unhappy when the occasional pan lid or cookie sheet would fall behind the counter…..

Omg, Suzann, me too. My kids were always so impressed how I could fit so many dishes & pots in the drainer. They used to ask me to teach them when it was their turn, sorry, it’s an art, lol.
