And Then There Was Only One . . .

And Then There Was Only One at ASlobComesClean.com

I’m down to one trick-or-treater.

I knew this on October 31st of last year, but somehow I guess I still put away two Halloween buckets.

There comes a time when you move from being the candy getter to the candy giver, and 2/3 of my kids are now givers, working at our church’s event instead of going trick-or-treating.

And Then There Was Only One at ASlobComesClean.com

Yet, last week as I opened the cabinet where I keep our buckets, I noticed there were still two in there. I really can’t pretend I need two when I only have one person in the house who would ever use one.

Sticking it in the Donate Box showed clearly how quickly we’re moving toward the end of another era in our family, and that made me sad. But I am relieved to reduce by 50% my chances of being hit on the head by a falling plastic pumpkin when I open that cabinet.

I totally had to LOL at the 50% reduction in chances of being hit in the head by the plastic pumpkin. Our pumpkins spent far longer than they should have on top of a desk turned on it’s end on the upstairs catwalk (don’t ask…) and I can’t tell you the number of times I have been doing something up there and knocked them off on my head, only to grouse and stick them right back up there. Thankfully they are now safely packed away in a box in the closet where they belong and no longer pose a threat. 😉 Wish I could say the same for the desk… any advice on getting your hoarding husband to get rid of ‘quality’ stuff we don’t need and haven’t used in the entire 14 years we’ve lived in this house??

Knock it over. “It broke, darling!” 😉

Wish it was so easily breakable… the contentious stuff is a giant solid wood desk, a set of solid wood end tables and coffee table, a set of stainless steel pots and pans, and a knife block and set of knives. I’ve tried everything I can think of over the years to get him to get rid of them. He just accuses me of wanting to get rid of all of ‘his stuff.’ Ummm… Yes… Yes I do. Because I got rid of all ‘my stuff’ YEARS ago. And we’ve had ‘our stuff’ that replaced it all for 14 YEARS!!! Grr…

TwinMominTexas, tell him if he sells them the money can go to something he’s been really wanting.
