From The Mailbox: Guess What I Just Threw Out!

a reader writes Guess What I Just Threw Out at ASlobComesClean.com

{Today I have another fun letter from a reader! Being willing to throw something out is a definite sign of progress!   -Nony}

ASlobComesClean.com - From Our Mailbox

Dear Nony,

After reaching for this, formerly my favorite, and deciding not to use it; I actually threw it out. I took a picture to remember this amazing day. The rust and melted parts of the handle need to be remembered. I am making it a priority to run the dishwasher every night and my kids are now responsible for emptying it every morning. My kitchen still looks better thanks to your e-book. ** We are having guests in our guest room and we can see the floor. Actually, the whole room looks OK. I am thinking I could even get it to pretty nice if I keep up the good work.

Thanks!
From a Faithful Reader

A Slob Comes Clean Helps Me Declutter!

** NOTE: The ebook  ‘faithful reader’ mentions is now included as an appendix in my book How to Manage Your Home without Losing Your Mind.

    That is progress. This past weekend, I helped my parents load up and dispose of a 23 year old couch and recliner that they are no longer using! Talk about making a difference in the amount of “empty” space in their house! Whew!

      I can relate to your post. About 2 years ago, I listed an old couch and an old computer on craigslist for free, and got rid of both items. That eventually led to cleaning out the junk room and repurposing it as a TV room. It’s so nice to be really using every room in my house!

    Kudos to Faithful Reader! I’ve had trouble throwing away things that have outlived their usefulness, or are just plain ratty. It makes me feel great when I realize that whatever-it-was is now where it belongs: in the trash!

    Here’s the latest small win: my outdoor thermometer that was only accurate for temps over 80 degrees. (Maybe I should have been more careful when I power washed the deck, where it hung.) It was partially helpful during these summer months, but honestly, not replacing it was just nuts! I have a new one now, and it’s great to know how cool/warm/hot it really is outside.

    Aw spat, you’ve done your tour of duty and now you’re in the big kitchen drawer in the sky. Enjoy flipping burgers in heaven! (Lol)

    I have a very deep love for MY spatula. I bought the nicest one at Walmart and found that I cannot live without it. I hope they continue to carry them!
