Such a cute little container, right?
Surely I could find something to do with it next year . . . right?
Surely.
Except that I don’t have a spot for these surelies.
And I generally find these types of saved containers right after I give the gift that would have fit perfectly in them.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all about re-using gift bags. But this unique container is just unique enough to not enter my brain at just the right time.
And “just the right time” is necessary for a clear, small container . . . no matter how cute it is.
Sooooo, I stuck it in the Donate Spot.
Of course . . . if any of you have a brilliant idea for how I could use it right now, I can always go get it back.
How’s my Daily in December pledge going? Pretty well. Hubby has been a huge help, and we’ve been doing AND folding AND putting away laundry whenever we’re home. (When I say we . . . I mostly mean he . . . )
I emptied and re-filled the dishwasher today, and checked the bathroom for clutter. We’ve also done lots of picking up.
Lots.

It would look super cute with green and red peppermints.

My first thought was to fill it with green and red M&Ms, but the green and red peppermints is a great idea too!

I have a rubber Maid container that I save all of my small boxes and jars in for Christmas presents and that one would look great filled with erasers, rubber bands ect. for a teacher gift.I always make fudge for gifts and would have filled it with that or homemade coco mix to go with the fudge.

I see that great minds think alike … I was thinking it’d be cute filled with candies or colorful ornaments and displayed as a Christmas decoration. So, whatcha gonna do?
Susan says
My thoughts too … fill it with holiday-theme Hershey kisses or some other treat. They’re nice to have on hand for when you need a quick little gift for someone.
Not really a big deal for something like this but just thought I’d mention … these types of containers aren’t food-grade plastic, and they most likely weren’t sterilized prior to being decorated. So I wouldn’t put edibles in them that aren’t wrapped.

I went through all of my Christmas decorations this year and donated or tossed several items that have been “surelies” for a couple of years. I tend to hold onto Christmas decorations more than anything else because I always think I will find something to do with it next year, but it was time for me to come to terms with the fact that I never do. So donate away!

LEAVE IT THERE>..from one slob to another….unless you need a gift while it is sitting there and you can adapt it to your needs….leave it there…
it’s a realization i’ve come to..if i won’t remember to use it..its CLUTTER no matter how cute it is….
my kids would have ripped the decorations off of it and army men or marbles or rocks would have filled it…and i would be ok with that use..

I was thinking the candy thing too, but doing something with it such as using it for a gift for the mailman, for example. The kiddos are out of school by now or I’d suggest a teacher’s gift.

Hi Nony I like the idea of the wrapped round peppermints…I would fill it with those and then glue/tape one onto the front of the greenery to jazz that up a bit and leave it for the mailman/friend/neighbor…Otherwise, I would donate it too…Merry Christmas!
Nony says
I’m really liking this mailman idea! (Feel bad that I hadn’t thought of him!)

My house and attic are filled with surlies…now they have a name.
We have car part surlies in the attic as well…
You are brilliant.
Dawn says
You could fill it with the fake snow stuff and put a gift card in it!

That’s too funny.
