Daily Checklist – Sick Day

As a mom, there’s no such things as concrete plans. Normal cold/flu season sickness probabilities multiplied by 4 (you plus 3 kids), multiplied by all of the kids whom your kids come in contact with, who may or may not grasp the concepts of mouth-covering and hand-washing, and you learn very quickly to clarify all commitments with the phrase “We’ll plan on that, assuming everyone is well.”

Normally Wed is the day I’m gone all day at Bible Study and doing grocery shopping. But today I’ve had the pleasure of disinfecting potties and doing endless loads of laundry trying to de–grossify the house after a night of a nasty stomach bug.

Thankfully, my son has been fine since 5 a.m. and has eaten lunch and breakfast without any problems.

Today I:

Didn’t make bed when I got up at 6 am to head to Walmart for Clorox Wipes and Saltines.

Ran dishwasher that didn’t get started last night in the midst of the disgustingness.

Did clean up kitchen.

Ran MULTIPLE complete loads of laundry.

Wiped down the entire bathroom multiple times, including floors, doorknobs, light switches, etc.

Took a very hot shower as soon as the last load of contaminated laundry was started.

Last night I didn’t do any of my tasks.

I have accomplished quite a bit today in the area of decluttering. Post about that coming up!
