I’ve admitted before that I can’t afford library books.
This morning, as I got ready for one of my greatest pleasures, leg-shaving/book-reading-no-of-course-you-can’t-come-in-Mommy’s-in-the-tub-no-I-don’t-have-any-idea-how-much-longer-I’ll-be-in-here time, I confirmed in my mind that it is much smarter, much more frugal of me to buy books at garage sales than to check them out from the library. The same book that I can get for .25 at a garage sale would likely have a library replacement cost of over 20.00.
Sometimes it is best to acknowledge your faults and accept yourself for who you are.
If you’re curious about the book, it’s Bridget Jones’s Diary. Like garage sale-ers tend to do, I picked up the sequel to this book several years ago, and read it first. It was hysterical. When I saw this one at a thrift store for a whole dollar, I bought it. So far, it’s fun, but not as keep-hubby-awake-because-the-bed-is-shaking-as-I-try-to-stifle-my-laughter-funny as the second one was.
I’m linking this up to Frugal Friday over at Lifeasmom.com.

LOL! I used to take baths all the time in my pre-baby days. I don't think I've had a soak in the tub in the last 11 years!
I echo what Amanda said–If you like the books, you will LOVE the movie. Also, anything by Sophie Kinsella is good! Happy Reading to you!
