This Is the Retreat You've Been Waiting For
You know that moment in a Kindred Spirits Zoom call when someone says exactly what you've been thinking and you want to reach through your screen and say YES, THAT IS ME, but you can't, because you're in your living room and they're somewhere in another time zone?
The 2026 Kindred Spirits Retreat is a weekend designed for you to meet those exact people (our people!) the ones who are doing the actual work of making progress in their homes. If you're part of the Kindred Spirits community and you've ever thought, "I wish I could meet them in real life", now you can!
Come to the lake. Let's hang out!
This Year Comes With Something Extra Special
Every ticket includes a signed copy of Dana's newest book, Procrastinators Get Stuff Done
Every single retreat ticket in 2026 includes a signed copy of Dana's newest book, Procrastinators Get Stuff Done, released the week of the event.
Procrastinators Get Stuff Done is the book so many of us have been waiting for. It's written for every person who knows what they need to do and still can't quite make themselves do it and who has started to wonder if something is fundamentally broken about them. It is going to be one of those books you buy for literally everyone you know once you've read it.
Getting a signed copy, at the retreat, from Dana herself — this is a really big deal. Don't miss it.
What People Are Saying
"I would STRONGLY consider attending another retreat. The time away, the location, the thoughtfulness, the talks, the presentations, the kindness of each organizer/planner. "
— Lisa DR." I would encourage any Kindred Spirits folks to consider it & make it a priority. You stand to gain even closer bonds and camaraderie with this group! 🙂💜."
— Vanessa Z."The experience was worth the cost and travel. Being in a somewhat remote location allows you to truly have an escape, enjoy nature, and form connections with others!"
— Kenna S.

What the Weekend Looks Like
We'll share the full detailed schedule as the retreat gets closer. Here's the shape of the weekend:
Friday Evening
We kick off with a group dinner — the kind where you sit down next to a stranger and realize ten minutes in that you've found your people. Expect good conversation, introductions, and everything you need to know to make the most of the weekend. We'll hang out together in the evening with games, chatting, and zero pressure. Dana will speak and share her five-step Anti-Procrastination Process.
Saturday — The Heart of the Retreat
▸ Morning activity sessions — you choose what sounds good to you: a group hike on the beautiful park trails, a self-care session, creative craft time (yarn arts, functional crafts, crochet/knitting), or photo organization. Something for everyone.
▸ Lunch together at our reserved pavilion
▸ Q&A time with Dana — your chance to ask whatever you've been saving up
▸ "Unique Life Situation" table discussions — small, focused conversations around your specific life circumstances: living alone, large families, empty nesters, work-from-home, young kids, multi-generational living, health/mobility challenges, and more. If you fit more than one, you get to move around.
▸ Dinner together at the pavilion
▸ An evening session with Dana — real talk, real encouragement
▸ Share Your Wins — a live, in-person KS Zoom call. Every bit as good as it sounds.
▸ S'mores around the fire pit. Non-negotiable.
Sunday Morning
Sunday breakfast is included this year — no scrambling for coffee before we gather one last time. We'll wrap up together before checkout. You'll head home feeling like a more connected, more grounded version of yourself.
The Location: Lake Murray State Park
We picked a state park with a lake view and multiple lodging options because we wanted this to feel like a real getaway! Lake Murray State Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma is genuinely beautiful. The lodge has beautiful hotel rooms with balconies that look out over the water. There are also rustic cabins that are charming and comfortable and perfect for those who want something a little more ... well ... rustic. And if tent camping is your thing, the park has that too.
We've reserved a room block at special discounted rates, but there are limited rooms in our discount block. Scroll down for details and don't wait on this one.
Lodging Details
To access our discounted group rates, you must call by September 9, 2026. Booking online will NOT apply the group discount — even if you see a group ID field on the website. You have to call.
All room block options require a 2-night minimum stay. Rates do not include sales tax or a 3% service fee for credit/debit cards. An advance deposit of one night's accommodation + tax is required to hold your reservation. Discounted rates also apply to extended stays — Thursday, October 8 through Monday, October 13 — if you'd like to arrive early or stay a little longer.
| Room Type | Available | Per Night |

The discounted rates also apply to extra nights added to your stay, from Thursday, October 8 through Monday, October 13, if you'd like to arrive early or stay a little longer and turn it into a proper trip.
A note on floating cabins: Lake Murray State Park also has floating cabins, which are a whole experience. Those are NOT part of our room block and are reserved through a separate company. If you want to check them out, Google "Lake Murray Floating Cabins." We just can't get you a discount on those.
To browse room photos and additional options outside our block, visit the Lake Murray State Park reservation site. Remember — you must call to get the group discount, even though there is a group ID field on the site.
Getting to Ardmore
Ardmore sits right along I-35, roughly halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas. That makes it very reachable from several directions.
Nearest Major Airports
No Car? No Problem.
▸ From OKC: Amtrak's Heartland Flyer runs once daily from Oklahoma City directly to Ardmore — the trip takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes. Greyhound also operates twice-daily service between Oklahoma City and Ardmore.
▸ From DFW: Greyhound runs twice-daily bus service from Dallas to Ardmore, approximately 2.5 hours.
▸ Rideshare: Uber does go to Lake Murray — think about reaching out to other attendees to share the cost! Uber also operates in Ardmore for getting around once you've arrived.

Don't Wait On This One
The conversations that happened around those tables, and around that fire pit were the kind that don't happen on a screen. This year we get to do it all again, except this time you leave with Sunday breakfast AND a signed copy of a book you're going to absolutely love.
The early bird price disappears on August 28th at noon. The room block disappears on September 9th. Final registration deadline is September 28th.
