I’m just now adding last week’s hangout from Google +. (So sorry! This video is no longer available.)
Last week was a crazy week . . .
Anyway, I enjoyed the hangout, and learned a lot about the technical side of things. As one of you predicted after my technical difficulties in the first hangout, as soon as I figured it out, Google changed things.
Thanks to the lovely Shelly of Frugal Family Home, I think I know now what I did wrong, and I’m hoping next time it will go better!
Speaking of next time . . . I’m taking this week off from hangouts after doing them each week in September covering all four habits in 28 Days to Hope for Your Home. (This e-book is now retired, for detailed guides, check out my books:How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind and Decluttering at the Speed of Life.)
In this hangout, we discussed Habit Four – The Daily Pickup
The main issue people have with this habit (that I totally understand from my own experience) is that it doesn’t seem possible that five minutes could really make a dent.
It does.
Just try it.
We also discussed how to make the five minutes have lasting effect and not just cause more mess to deal with later.
Feel free to leave comments here about the video and to share your ideas for future hangout subjects.

IMHO, I love the hangouts. I love hearing you talk in your witty, entertaining way. It seems a little awkward when you have had someone on with you because of all the delays and technical issues. Also, maybe you should solicit all the questions you want to cover before you start so you don’t have to read and talk at the same time. Just my 2 cents, but I say keep them coming! Love the podcasts too. Maybe I’m just a gal that needs to hear it rather than read it. 🙂

Thanks for this! It was a busy day, so I was glad to not do one today, but I definitely want to do more. And yes, some people are readers, some are watchers, and some are listeners! I’m trying to reach them all!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! I know this is a couple months past your post date but I’m so glad someone pined you on pinterest! I have a tendency to over complicated and get overwhelmed when it comes to cleaning my house. Sometimes I just need someone to cut through my crazy mind and simplify my life. I’m going to your youtube channel next and probably do some binge watching. 🙂

Will you be doing anymore hangouts?
Dana White says
I will! I will do them again in January, each Thursday starting on the 9th. The focus will be on decluttering.

I’ve been listening to your podcast for years, and read your e-books and put the dishwasher rule into practice. What a game changer! Still any horizontal space that has nothing on it is a magnet for whatever we have in our hands. Mail, tools, you name it has not home and is very sad languishing in a room. Some objects remain buried so we just buy another one of it. Each scissors has and extended family of fourteen siblings until we found a home upstairs and a home downstairs to house them. Your hangout next Monday is something I will be setting an alarm for . . . looking forward to it.
