(Lame) Excuse: “But I Don’t Have a Nail . . . “

I almost changed the title to “But I Lost the Nail . . . ”

Except that’s actually true.

And the point of this post (as it was being written inside my head yesterday) is that my excuse isn’t really an excuse.

This time, it’s a lie.

I’d been telling myself that I didn’t have a nail, so for months I’d had a missing picture from my dining room wall.

An OBVIOUSLY missing picture.

The truth was, I had lost that one specific nail when taking the pictures down for one of my webisode filming sessions.

But I did have a nail.  And it was about seven feet away from where the picture was sitting for months.

And months.

I just hadn’t bothered to look for it.

Even though it bugged me that the picture wasn’t on the wall.

Even though I knew that we keep nails/picture-hanging-do-lollies in that drawer.

So, last week . . . I looked.  And found a perfectly good picture-hanging-nail.

And put the picture back on the wall.

Lame excuse/lie exposed and refuted.

You know those labels I mentioned yesterday?  Well, Wednesday is the last day to get them for free so hurry on over there (through this totally-labeled affiliate link) and get you some.  Think how proud you’ll be of yourself that you didn’t procrastinate.

For once.

Shipping starts at 3.69, and they’re by Vistaprint, whom I’ve used many times for my business cards. I’ve always been pleased with the quality.

Do you think that the reason for doing things the way ‘we’ do or NOT DOING them the way we’d like them done has to do with us being PERFECTIONISTS?
    I do.
Like your picture for instance. Even with the picture back on the wall…maybe the room won’t be perfect…so what difference does it make? Same with me. I have loads of pictures that need to be put on the wall. But I’m waiting to paint. But I haven’t painted…because one wall needs paneling. Because the plaster on that wall keeps cracking as my house settles…I can’t get the paneling up because the beds in the way…and the paneling is in the barn… etc. (really, I just recently put the paneling up…drug it up from the barn and cut it by myself! crooked and all! and stood on the bed to put it up on the wall!)…trying to put my petty perfectionism aside! 🙂

loving your blog, and getting in my face…ehem, I mean in my email. 😉 Pat
