Finish Jet-Dry Review

December 28, 2011 By Dana White |

I’ll be honest . . . I had never used a rinse agent in my dishwasher until about a week ago when I received a sample of Finish Jet-Dry.

I was excited to try it out, though a little confused.  I couldn’t find any instructions on the bottle itself (though that doesn’t necessarily mean they weren’t there . . . ).  However, when I looked at my dishwasher, sure enough there was a twist-off cap in the door that was clearly labeled “Rinse Aid”.

Once I unscrewed the lid on the dishwasher compartment, it was very clear where the Jet-Dry was supposed to go.  The bottle I had was the exact amount that my compartment said it would hold, so I put it all in.

I didn’t really know what to expect, especially since I generally don’t bemoan minor spots on my dishes, but I was very pleased at how sparkly my dishes looked, particularly the glossy ceramic ones.

It has definitely been nice that my fun and bright Christmas dishes looked even brighter this season!

I decided to really put it to the test, though, with some stainless steel utensils.

Before:

After:

The difference isn’t huge, but there is a difference.  I feel like there’s some water-spot-build-up on them, and perhaps it will get better the more I use it.

While minor water-spots don’t drive me bonkers, I so wish I would have tried Jet-Dry where we used to live.  Our water there was insanely hard and the dishes always looked awful.  (Edited to add: I have no idea if Jet-Dry would take care of the hard-water issues, but searching online makes it seem that people do use it for that!  No claims here, but I definitely wish I had tried it there!)

Honestly, my favorite thing about this product is that is memory-free.  Meaning . . . it provides an extra benefit, without an extra step! Once you fill the rinse agent dispenser with Jet-Dry, it’s automatically released each time you run your dishwasher.  You can find out more at the Finish website.

I also get to give away a sample of Finish Jet-Dry to one of you! (NOTE: Giveaway has ended.) Just leave a comment on this post, and I’ll choose a winner on Thursday at noon Central time. You can see my giveaway policies here.  Just be sure to check your email, because I’ll need to hear back from the winner within 48 hours or I’ll have to choose another one.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Finish and received a Finish Jet-Dry product sample to facilitate my review, a sample to giveaway, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I would love to win this Finish Jet-Dry. We have hard water here and I would love my dishes to sparkle!

I love your blog and it makes me feel happy that I’m not the only person that feels overwhelmed when I look at the messes that are all around my house!

I would love to win this! Our water is insanely hard. I often have to treat dishes, post-dishwasher, with vinegar to get the spots out. I can’t believe I didn’t think of using Jet Dry – guess I didn’t realize it would help with hard water.

At our old house in IL this product was horrible. Since we move to Tennessee we have found it works wonderfully. I think a lot has to do with the type of water you have. Harder water needs an extra boost.

🙂 And now I’ll comment on the blog too….COOL! 🙂

    Thanks! 🙂

What I like about using Jet Dry is that my dishes are actually DRY when I go to put them away (thus where the spots come from). Even after a dry cycle they tend to be covered with water droplets and that is when I know I need to add more Jet Dry!

I have been a long-time fan. I have tried the generic stuff and it really doesn’t work as well. Would love a free sample! 🙂 Keep up the great blog!

I haven’t used anything for a rinse aid in a long time. I probably should start using it again. It’s something I tend to forget about.

Hey! I would love to win. My favorite feature of rinse aids is – fill it and forget it! Until the next time you have to fill.

    Love to win!

    Happy New Year!

I’ve never used a rinse aid either Nony, but I do have to say, the water spots bug me to no end.

I hope you and your family had a great Christmas Nony!

I don’t bother with a rinse aid because I didn’t think it was a big deal, but I’d love to try it and compare. Thanks for the chance!
