Really? Again? Friday?
Zowie, focus is difficult in the summer. I’ve had a bad case of the donwannas, but thankfully, the thing that has helped is . . . focus. Having an overall desire to help my kids learn 1) what cleaning is, and 2) that it has to be done consistently, has helped me stay on track.
My focus for next week? Ummmm . . . VBS. Vacation Bible School. So much fun, but so unbelievably exhausting. I think I’m going to focus on daily tasks and daily tasks only for next week. I don’t see any mopping going on. VBS was my big downfall/trip-up last summer when I was attempting to “change things around here once and for all” and so it scares me a little. I’m dealing with that by not putting many expectations on us for the week above the bare minimum.
If you’d like to join in on Focus Check Friday, you can comment, link up a blog post, or just take a deep breath and think about your upcoming week. It’s meant to be an excuse for you to blab on about/hash out what is and isn’t working in your quest for home order. You can read more about the concept behind it here.
If you do link up below, please say something like “I’m linking up to Focus Check Friday on A Slob Comes Clean” and then link back to this post.

Nony,
You are doing great with teaching your kids how to clean and that it needs to be done consistently. They even seem to be enjoying it somewhat.
We all have weeks when it is a challenge just to keep up with the daily tasks and I think you are still on track.
Have a great weekend!

My focus has again been on the kitchen. I've gotten lots done there cooking-wise! Cleaning and decluttering has pretty much been status quo, which means I'm not moving backwards at least.
Seriously, how can a single week go by so quickly?!?

In reading the blog from the earliest to the present I think I hit 2-3 Focus Fridays a Day. I start off with great focus in the morning and it dissolves into doing what I can to survive the day. Still house guests are one day closer.
