Well, life is pretty bananas for all of us right now. In this podcast episode, I’m sharing some mental decluttering roadblocks I’ve been surprised to be facing, how I’m talking myself through them, and my best advice for making the most of this unexpected decluttering time, even if you have some of the same challenges.

I love how you say ‘bananas.’

Just an FYI, the meme you referred to was the opening song from Disney’s tangled.

I just want you to know that you are my hero and my conscience while I declutter !
I truly appreciate you keeping it real🙌 💕

Dear Dana–Thank you for your true honesty and sweet encouragement. I just started my “real” decluttering journey (again) several months ago and your two books and your website posts have been insanely helpful.
I started reading your blog from the beginning and made it to April 2011 before all this hit. Your realness has helped me so much I feel like we could be great friends–I even have the same Oreck! I was doing really well and making regular donation trips but then in February I donated a blanket I wish I’d kept and it sort of paralyzed me. And then this crazy covid mess came up and then my father died March 12 meaning 2 out of town trips for burial in one place and then memorial service in another (that was sadly limited to only immediate family–couldn’t even have a pastor or military salute–due to covid restrictions).
So as we try to get to a new “normal” and actually start our stay-at -home event, I look forward to reading more of your blog journey and listening to more podcasts to help me keep going. And I thank you for all of your help.

Lori, I’m so sorry for your loss. That is so difficult during this already difficult time.

I’m really appreciating your frequent emails during this time of social isolation. Many thanks. And thank you to your family as well, for giving you the time to work.

Hi Dana!! I love listening to you. I was moving during this crazy time in April. What i landed up doing was i took some things i really wanted to have a good home to the good will and the rest i called a junk hauler. I feel terrible. What do you think of that solution? I had three large piles and a shed.
