Happy New Year, y’all!!
What?
Oh come on. All moms know the REAL new year is whenever school starts. There’s nothing like the return of routine to motivate me to do better.
Soooo, I’m trying something new, and I hope you’ll be a part of it. On Thursdays in September at 10 a.m. Central, I’ll be hosting live Google+ hangouts.
Huh?
Google+ hangouts are one of those things that make me feel like I’m living in the future with the Jetsons. They are seriously cool, and available . . . for free . . . to anyone.
It’s crazy what you can do on the internet.
Let me explain what it’s about, how it works, and what it will be like.
What it’s About:
I’m personally focusing on getting back to the most basic, most essential habits for a home that stays out of Disaster Status. These habits are outlined in instructional form in my e-book, 28 Days to Hope for Your Home. Each week in September, we’ll discuss one habit from the e-book. [this e-book is now retired – for detailed guides, check out my books:How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind and Decluttering at the Speed of Life.
How it Works:
If you have a Google account (a gmail account is a Google account), you are already on Google+. If you click here, you can RSVP to the event. If you’re set up to receive notifications, you’ll get a reminder about the event.
(So sorry! Google+ is no longer up and running!)
You can watch it even if you’re not on Google+. Just click this link to get there at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
What It Will Be Like:
I’ll be on my webcam, talking about the first habit in 28 Days to Hope for Your Home. You won’t be seen. But you can type questions during the hangout (at that link above) that I’ll be able to see and answer.
Whether you think you’ll attend or not, I’d love for you to send in any questions you have regarding 28 Days to Hope for Your Home ahead of time so I can be sure to get to them during the hangout.
Just send them to aslobcomesclean @ gmail . com (with the spaces removed). You can send in questions about any of the four habits and I’ll answer them on the appropriate week.
If you’d like to be an official guest who is on camera, send me an email telling me which of the four habits has made the biggest difference for you.
Questions You Might Have:
What if I don’t have the e-book?
It’s okay! All the habits in the e-book are based on my own deslobification process which is here on the blog. The e-book is written instructionally, as opposed to you gleaning insights from my experiences. You won’t be lost at all in the hangout if you haven’t read the e-book.
What if I can’t be there on Thursday but I want to watch?
If you can’t attend, the hangout will be up on my YouTube channel for you to watch at another time.
I hope to see you there! Click here or on the banner at the top of the post to RSVP!

I wish I could ‘attend’ the live chats! It sounds like a lot of fun, but my schedule at the moment (I’m usually falling asleep around sunrise) makes being up at ten pretty unlikely. I’ll look forward to seeing them on YouTube though. 🙂

Oooh! I’ve RSVP’d! (And marked my calendar so that I KNOW I’ll be free!) Good thing Thursdays are free for me! (I think I could definitely benefit from this hangout!)
I totally agree with Sept being the time I get back on track. I homeschool, but I find it such a motivating time to get moving again.

I homeschool, but Thursdays are our Co-op mornings. 🙁 It’s a great idea, though.
And it is the New Year. Yesterday was the Liturgical New Year at our church. Actually the new year starting in January is quite a new phenomenon. Here’s a smidge of history for you:

May God grant you many years!

Sorry you’ll miss it! I’m sure I’ll do some someday that will be on other days!
