Well, that was one big disaster!! I definitely proved that I’m NOT an internet genius!! I did it wrong and made it a hangout where only ten people were able to watch. SO THEN I did it again, and got a little rambly toward the end since I couldn’t remember what I had said in the first hangout that didn’t record and what I had already said in this one.
Whew.
But this one did record. So here it is! I hope you’ll join me next week, when I’m pretty sure I’ll know what to do!
(Pretty sure.)
I’m excited that Mary from Giving Up On Perfect,Kristi from Moms Confession and Lisa of Chaos Appreciation joined!
NOTE: Google+ hangouts are no longer available. You can check out my YouTube videos HERE.

There was so much discussion about unloading the dishwasher today that I thought I would chime in. I also work outside the home and I have my two boys unload the dishwasher for me. They are 11 and 9 and have been doing this chore for about two years. They share the task. My oldest does the top rack because he’s taller and can reach the cabinets where the glasses go and my younger son does the bottom rack. My three year old often helps put the silverware away. I have them do this when we first get home while I’m cooking dinner so I can put dirty dishes directly in.

Excellent! Thank you for mentioning this. Several in the first (unrecorded!) hangout said similar things. Such a great way to make it work in your home!

Did I miss it? Boo. I tried to find you at 10:30 MDT andthen you popped up here at 11:00 MDT. I’ve watched it–you did well. As someone who lives without a dishwasher, I totally appreciate the point you made that it is not about having or not having a dishwasher–it is about the routine. Key for me is two different times they must be done–before dinner (and sometimes that’s after breakfast or after lunch (or egads, both!) and after supper–even if I can’t get ALL the dishes done after supper–I still need to do as much as I can or things get out of hand quickly. My routine is to let them air dry over night and put whatever is in the dishrack away while I’m waiting on my coffee maker in the morning. Unfortunately, I am not consistent with the dishes, yet. It’s a struggle. I’d be happy to appear on camera if you want.
Looking forward to next week: what is the habit you will be talking about?

Don’t worry; as soon as you get it all figured out, Google and/or Youtube
or whomever will change it all up;
note I did not say improve, just change.
