Thankfully, having a Laundry Day has worked for me for quite a long time now. We generally make it through the week with undies to spare, and I thoroughly enjoy the fact that I don’t have to worry about laundry on the other six days of the week.
But there’s one thing that makes me antsy to get to the washing machine: BARGAINS!!!
In my area, Salvation Army has Half Price Clothing Day on Wednesdays. Half off of . . . not much! Last week, I found some much needed long-sleeved shirts and comfier-than-jeans pants for my daughter, and a much-wanted top for myself. Of course, I had to wash it all when I got home, but laundry like that is fun!
Before I had a Laundry Day, and back when my garage-sale-addiction was in full-swing, I would come home loaded down with armfuls of twenty-five cent clothing and walk right past (or on top of) the piles of dirty clothes to put the “new” stuff into the washer.
Mmm-hmmm, I have issues.

I like the idea of the laundry day. I am going to do one load a day (to keep choas away). I will put it in the washer/dryer/fold/put away one load a day and then do all the rest on Thursday. We will see if this works for us this week. Thanks for the tip!!

My funnest laundry days are the ones where I find MONEY! My rule is if it comes through the laundry, it’s mine to keep 🙂
Love the idea of forgoing the laundry and just buying new clothes!!!! I’ve just found your site and have really, really, really enjoyed. It makes me feel more normal, or at least less alone in my weirdness. 🙂
You’re hilarious.
Washing bargain clothes makes me so excited too! I feel like I am folding money as I fold new, clean bargain clothes. I love to shop for clothes so nothing makes me happier than thrift store finds!
oh my goodness!! i don’t know if i’ve commented on here before…if i didn’t..hello!:) i recently subscribed to you in my feeder. i will be honest…i kind of forget. so, when i came across this post today i gasped audibly….good gravy!! this chic is my virtual twin!!!! wowsa…this laundry thing is so me. i am the exact same with salvation army and yardsales!!! i clothe my kids almost entirely 2nd hand. i also set things around to sell on ebay and never do! it drives me nuts that i don’t and it drives me extra crazy that i get rid of them with out making extra money. just recently i vowed that i just need to get rid of it. i don’t know if i am having a yardsale this year and i just need to say adios to have less clutter. ok…I am taking over your blog. i can’t wait to keep reading what you have to say…because i know i will relate! 🙂
