Watching Clutter Happen

My house looks like summer.

Not in the fresh-flowers-on-the-dining-table way, but in the flip-flops-everywhere-and-random-junk-piling-up-from-lack-of-routine way.

And I’m watching it happen.

Sometimes I’m not aware of the clutter happening, but right now I feel very aware. I may not have purposely put it there, but I have purposely left it there.

I was motivated on Thursday by the prospect of in-laws showing up at my door, but as soon it was decided that another house was a more central, convenient location, my motivation died.

Ugh. I should really get up and carry this potholder (why exactly is there a potholder in the office?) back into the kitchen and at least empty the dishwasher.

I really should.

And you will – you will because you've come such a very long way and in the past you may not have seen that potholder at all, but today – today you do see it and that is a victory.

    Good job!

    Hi
I can identify with watching clutter happen, there is no way that your house has more clutter than mine. I also have a storage bin can't even get into it. Been renting for 9 yrs. now should have gotten rid of it yrs ago. I could have bought all new furniture. Ive spent on storage. I've been in the hospital so much lately there is never time to do much of anything. My health and age have alo to do with it, but me being lazy counts too.

ugh, watching and doing nothing about clutter in my house too. My (salaried) hubby went to work at 7am today. He's hoping to get home by 11:30pm. I've got an hour to make the house look at least at little better than when he left. I've just got to get out of the chair!!

I know you can do it because you've done so well so far…get everybody to pick up at least5 things of their own stuff before lunch or something…it's a start and less for you!
