Things are getting back to normal around here now that the boys are back in school. I’m so sad to not have them home, but I’m making the best of today and trying to get the house back in order.
Since last week was spring break, and we left at 10 a.m. Monday morning, I had a fantastic excuse to ignore laundry. But thankfully, with my new mindset that MONDAY IS LAUNDRY DAY, LIKE IT OR NOT, I did my best to do three basic loads before we left, starting on Sunday night, and so this week wasn’t the insanity that it could have been. In fact, it’s noon, and I only have one more load to go. Go me!
I have spent more time folding and putting away since I didn’t complete that with last week’s loads. So the morning has pretty much been ONLY laundry. I am really looking forward to having the loveseat (laundry mountain) back. I’m always amazed that even though my selective vision doesn’t register the pile of clothes on that piece of furniture, it does register that the removal of them makes the entire room look better.
Today I:
Emptied dishwasher.
Cleaned kitchen.
Did a general pickup.
Worked on laundry.
Last night I:
Made lunches.
Put out clothes for boys.
I’m definitely not back to the full checklist, but even those few things made a big difference. My plan for the rest of the day is to completely finish (including putting away) all laundry, and to tackle one more small space in the master bedroom.
*FYI, Laundry Day probably won’t work for you if you’re on a septic system, as it may overload your system. Sorry!
Oh, and another thing I did was to go to swagbucks and order a 5$ paypal for 550 swagbucks. They’re normally 700, but they’re on sale today through Wednesday (I think). While I was there I went ahead and posted my last several amazon giftcard codes to my amazon account. I now have a $40.51 balance in my Amazon account. I’m saving up to hopefully buy Rockband for the family next Christmas. Every time I hit 450 swagbucks, I go order another 5$ amazon giftcard. All of the swagbucks links in this paragraph go to my swagbucks referral link, but if you’d like to know more about how it works, you can read my explanation here. (And then use one of the links in THAT post to sign up under me!)

I'd sign up under you but I'm already signed up 😉 I have a question though. You said you have an amazon balance? I haven't redeemed anything yet and am not sure how that works. Do you mean that you buy $5 amazon cards when they are on sale and then they add up to be used all at once when you're ready? Because I noticed that the smaller ones are less expensive (per dollar) but I was saving up for a $50. Did I explain that well enough? LOL!

Yes, I do believe it's a better deal to buy the 5 dollar ones. You go to the swag store, and look under gift cards. (If you're in the U.S, be sure to get an amazon.com one instead of an amazon.ca one, which is for Canada.)
Whenever I hit 450, I buy a 5 $ one. You have to confirm through a link in an email they send you pretty much instantly. Then, though, they post to your swagbucks account twice a month, I think it's the 16th and 30th. So you don't get them immediately.
On those days, they'll send you an email letting you know the giftcards have been posted to your account. Go into your account and there will be codes for each one. If you have an amazon account, you can then go ahead and find where it says something like "add gift cards to account" and it will let you enter the codes and give you a balance to be used later. So the 5 $ giftcards can be combined to make a big purchase, which makes them a better deal than getting a big one.
ANother reason why I'm buying the 5$ ones as soon as I hit 450 is that for some reason they say that that is a sale price and that the regular price is 1000, although they've always been 450 (or 45 under the old system) as long as I've known about it. I try to buy them as soon as I can because I think they'll probably go up to 1000 at some point, and I don't want to lose out if I can help it.
Does that help?

Yes it does, thanks! I had no idea I could do that. I have an amazon account but obviously I don't know the ins and outs. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
