I can’t tell you how much I wanted to skip my Daily Checklist post and just do this Tackle it Tuesday post.
I love big projects with showy results. This paint job is going to make such a noticeable difference.
Sweeping the kitchen and emptying the dishwasher? They’re only noticeable if I don’t do them.
But here it is. My big tackle for today. I’m not finished. But I (with the help of my mom) have finished the priming.
That is it’s own story. I had no intention of priming, but a very helpful reader advised it. So I thought about it. I resisted the idea, because it would be so much easier and quicker to just paint.
But when I thought about how there is a big probability that there is some residue left from the wallpaper, no matter how hard I worked to scrub it off, I decided to do it.
Normally, I wouldn’t have. But I have worked so hard on this room, and I don’t want to do it half-way.
See, when it comes to things like parenting, being a wife, creating a character, putting on a show, etc. I’m an “all the way” kind of girl. Those are the things I love, and they’re important to me, so the details are important. I wouldn’t dream of looking for the easy way out of training my children.
But when it comes to doing house-related tasks, I just want them done. I often think, “There has to be an easier way.” But sometimes there isn’t. And many times when I’ve done things the “easy” way, I’ve regretted it. It even creates more work.
So, although I didn’t want to prime, I did, because I’m tired of copping out when it comes to my home.
The neater it stays, the more I like it. The more I like it, the more I’m willing to put more time into it. The more time I put into it, the more I enjoy it.
Here’s what it looked like last week:
Here’s my beautifully white primed wall, ready to be painted tomorrow:
Can’t wait!

Glad you took my advice. Now on to the pretties! What color did you choose?

I chose a grayish tan. I really love it. I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm too exhausted to put a post together tonight.
