Daily Checklist

I’ll begin by admitting that I completely forgot to make lunches last night. Actually, I remembered just as I got really comfortable and warm in my bed. So I rationalized that since the dishwasher hadn’t been run for a lack of enough dirty dishes, I would have plenty of time to make lunches in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember that I also had not put out the boys’ clothes, so this morning was a bit busier than it should have been.

Today I:

Stripped bed instead of making it.

Just now got up to go put on new sheets and make the bed, and also did my “get off my behind and do a focused 5 minute pickup” time. (Very profitable and satisfying.)

Checked bathrooms for clutter.

Cleaned kitchen.

Swept kitchen.

Washed and dried a load of clothes.

Last night I did check the washer and dryer for unfinished laundry. I hadn’t done a load yesterday, since I just can’t seem to do one on Sunday. I thought I should check it, though, since there was a very real chance that I had started a load at some point and completely forgotten about it.

Last night I also wiped down the bathroom counters and toilets.

I’m really working this week on making sure that I complete my evening tasks every day.

I’ve been really inspired by your posts so far. I had great plans to start doing the daily checklist today. It’s Saturday and I had no obligations. However, I woke up with a very upset stomach. The only thing I managed to get done was fold & put away the 6 loads of laundry I had sitting in the living room from the last few days. It took ALL day. No dishes. No pick up. No wiping down of anything. Now, the day isn’t over yet. I may get inspired & do some work tonight because I’m feeling alot better, if not 100%. We’ll see how that goes.

I love your blog. It’s amazing how much you make me want to get stuff done. I am enjoying reading especially as I can relate to so much of what you are saying. I tried flylady but it never really caught on. You have inspired me to make my own checklist by adding one task at a time and so far it’s working great. I have had an empty sink for 3 days. Yay!!! Thank you ☺
